Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

5043 articles

You won't find a bigger Cubs fan than myself. Aside from my love of fantasy sports, which includes MLB, NFL and NBA, I own my own animal care business. I graduated from Columbia College in Chicago and currently reside in Chicago, IL. My love of fantasy sports started for me in the early 2000's and I have steadily been active with the same group of friends year in and year out for every league in baseball, basketball and football. I am hoping to help all RotoBaller members with any questions they may have. I consider myself an expert with minor league prospects, as it is a love of mine. I hope to give the best advice I can to the RotoBaller world!

Titans Place Sam Ficken On IR, Sign Michael Badgley

The Tennessee Titans have placed kicker Sam Ficken (groin) on injured reserve with a groin injury. Ficken was claimed off waivers in August from the New York Jets and would go on to win the kicker job. He was limited in practice on Friday and will now miss at least the first three weeks of […]

All Signs Point To Odell Beckham Jr. Playing In Week 1

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) is fully expected to suit up in Week 1 versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The star wide receiver has been recovering from a torn ACL and has gotten rave reviews out of camp this offseason. Despite being questionable, head coach Kevin Stefanski said that he would have […]

Nelson Agholor Is A Limited Participant On Friday

New England Patriots wide receiver Nelson Agholor (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in Friday's practice. Agholor missed practice on Thursday with an ankle injury, but it's a good sign to see him get some activity in on Friday. The veteran is currently listed as questionable versus the Miami Dolphins in Week 1, but […]

Tre'Quan Smith Placed On Injured Reserve

The New Orleans Saints have placed wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring) on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Smith dealt with an ankle injury in 2020 and his hamstring has been nagging him throughout training camp. Smith will now miss a minimum of three games. With Smith on IR and fellow pass-catcher Michael Thomas (ankle) […]

Jalen Hurd Ruled Out For Week 1

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jalen Hurd (knee) has been ruled out for Week 1 versus the Detroit Lions. Head coach Mike Shanahan said earlier in the week that Injured Reserved was a possibility, but it looks like for now that he will remain on the 53-man roster. Hurd was drafted in 2019, but injuries […]

Nyheim Hines Agrees To Three-Year Extension With Colts

The Indianapolis Colts and running back Nyheim Hines have agreed to a three-year, $18.6 million extension with $12 million in guaranteed money. It's a nice payday for the Colts No. 2 running back and his new contract will make him one of the top-10 highest paid running backs in the league. Despite being listed behind […]

Tests Confirm Torn ACL For Gus Edwards

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (knee) has officially been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will have season-ending surgery. Edwards was expected to take the lead role with J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Justice Hill (achilles) both sidelined for the season, but caught a tough break in practice and what was feared as a torn […]

Will Grier Inactive For Week 1

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Will Grier will be inactive in Week 1 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Grier was recently claimed off waivers from the Carolina Panthers and will compete with Cooper Rush for the No. 2 spot behind Dak Prescott throughout the season. Wide receiver Noah Brown, linebacker Luke Gifford, defensive ends Azur Kamara and […]

Trey Lance Limited On Thursday

San Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance (finger) remained limited in practice on Thursday. The third overall pick in the 2021 has been dealing with a chip in his finger and had a splint removed on Monday. It's encouraging news that Lance could have a shot to suit up in Week 1 versus the Detroit […]

Brandon Aiyuk Practices On Thursday

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) practiced in full on Thursday and should be ready to roll in Week 1 versus the Detroit Lions. The sophomore receiver is expected to play a big part in Kyle Shanahan's offense and offers plenty of upside to managers moving forward. In his rookie season, Aiyuk caught […]

Giovani Bernard Active, Ke'Shawn Vaughn Headlines Inactives

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ke'Shawn Vaughn is among the team's inactive players for Thursday's Week 1 matchup versus the Dallas Cowboys. Tyreek Hill Should Continue To Star As A WR In Week 1

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill will look to start his 2021 campaign on a high note against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. The Browns posses a strong defensive unit, but the Chiefs enter the matchup with one of the most explosive offenses over the past three seasons and Hill has played a […]

Travis Kelce Should Play A Big Role In Week 1

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will look to build off of his record breaking 2020 season with a date against a stingy Cleveland Browns defense in Week 1. Kelce had an incredible season in 2020 with 105 receptions for 1416 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had six games of 100 yards or […]

Patrick Mahomes Should Continue To Put Up Big Numbers In 2021

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is destined for another year as one of the best at his position this season, but will draw a tough Cleveland Browns defense in Week 1. The Browns defense was more vulnerable versus the pass than the run in 2020 with 247.6 yards allowed through the air per game, […]

Austin Ekeler Remains Sidelined In Practice

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (hamstring) was seen with his helmet and pads on, but didn't participate in practice for the second straight day. Justin Herbert Draws Tough Matchup In Week 1

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert will draw a tough Week 1 matchup versus the Washington Football Team. Chris Taylor Hits 20th Homer In Victory

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's victory versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Justin Steele Goes Five Innings In No-Decision

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Justin Steele went five innings in Monday's no-decision. The lefty allowed four hits, three runs, two walks and struck out four on the afternoon. Steele pitched very well out of the bullpen in the first half of the season and has been working strictly as a starter in the second half […]

Walker Buehler Suffers Rare Loss

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler got roughed up in Sunday's loss versus the San Francisco Giants. Buehler only lasted three innings and allowed seven hits, six runs, one walk and one strikeout. It was a rare poor performance for the right-hander and managers shouldn't be too concerned moving forward. Buehler is now 13-3 […]

Zach Davies Has Another Bad Start

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Zach Davies put together another bad outing in Sunday's no-decision versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. The right-hander only went four innings and allowed eight hits, six runs, three walks and struck out three on the afternoon. Davies has had a dismal year for the Cubs and is 6-10 with a 5.16 ERA.
