Adonai Mitchell fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 6 (2024). Should you start or sit Adonai Mitchell for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: There was a point in time when Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Adonai Mitchell was an intriguing start. Lead WR Michael Pittman Jr. (back) was supposedly suffering a back injury that could land him on IR and 2nd-string wideout Josh Downs (toe) missed consecutive practices with his ailment.
Can someone explain to me how Michael Pittman went from “IR candidate” to “catching passes in the end zone from Anthony Richardson” overnight?

Then Pittman practiced in full on Friday. Makes perfect sense! Downs also practiced in full, and both have "questionable" designations for Sunday's contest against the Tennessee Titans. If either of them plays, Mitchell isn't a great start. He's failed to establish a connection with either Colts quarterback so far.

While it's not totally fair to blame Mitchell for the above play, it illustrates part of the problem with him at least. With Pittman as the clear lead WR, Downs as the slot guy, and WR Alec Pierce playing well as a deep threat, there's not much room for a struggling rookie to get meaningful playing time.
Should both of Indy's top-two receivers sit out this game, the rookie is worth a speculative WR3/FLEX start. If not, he's best left on benches.
