Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Hitter, Pitcher Lineup Picks For Wednesday 6/30

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 6/30/21. Juan Carlos Blanco identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Baseball is back, and fantasy managers in daily leagues no doubt already have holes to fill. The easiest way to do that is with streamers. Fortunately, RotoBaller has you covered with daily streaming picks.

Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best fantasy baseball streaming picks - options to consider in fantasy baseball daily leagues. Additionally, these recommendations can be useful for fantasy managers setting DFS lineups.

We’re set for another mid-week split slate Wednesday that features four matinee clashes followed by 10 night contests. We have a good number of questionable pitchers taking the hill early, and a Coors Field tilt to boot. The latter portion of the ledger also has a number of questionable arms on it, making it a day with plenty of streaming hitting options. Roster percentages referenced are from Yahoo! leagues.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 6/30 - Shallow Leagues

Paul DeJong (SS, STL) 26% rostered

Matchup: vs. ARI RHP Riley Smith

DeJong is undeniably having a miserable season that saw him carry a .171/.271/.360 slash line into Tuesday night’s action. However, the slugging shortstop does have 10 homers over 199 plate appearances and will have a golden opportunity to enjoy some offensive success against Smith, who’s given up a .306 average and .376 wOBA to right-handed hitters, along with a 2.3 HR/9. Meanwhile, the righty-swinging DeJong has eight of his 10 homers in same-handed matchups, and even factoring in this year’s putrid performance, he still owns a .334 wOBA against righties at home in his career. Arizona relievers are also a good target, as they went into Tuesday with a 5.59 ERA, .291 BAA and .355 wOBA against right-handed hitters in the last month.

Willy Adames (SS, WAS) 21% rostered

Matchup: vs. CHC RHP Jake Arrieta

Adames was wielding a hot bat heading into Tuesday, slashing .359/.432/.718 with five doubles, three homers and 10 RBI over his previous 10 games. The young shortstop owns an .873 OPS over his time in Milwaukee, and although Arrieta has had more trouble against left-handed hitters, Adames still makes for a good play. He’s posted a .760 OPS and .331 wOBA against right-handed pitching, while Arrieta has pitched to a 6.17 ERA and .366 wOBA on the road, and he’s allowed a .267 average, .801 OPS and .339 wOBA in same-handed matchups. What’s more, Adames happens to be a very good hitter against Arrieta’s trademark sinker, as he owns a .357 wOBA against the pitch while Arrieta has allowed a .320 average and .404 wOBA when throwing it.

Mike Zunino (C, TAM) 27% rostered

Matchup: @ WAS LHP Jon Lester

Zunino doesn’t exactly make consistent contact, but when he connects, he shows a penchant for hitting it a long, long way. The veteran backstop went into Tuesday with a contradictory line of .206/.297/.538, with the latter figure largely the byproduct of his 21 extra-base hits (five doubles, 16 home runs) out of 33 total hits for the season. He’s therefore an excellent boom-or-bust bat to deploy against Lester, who can’t seem to keep the ball in the park very consistently (1.5 HR/9), and who’s allowed a .317 average and .392 wOBA to right-handed hitters. Meanwhile, Zunino has blasted lefties for a .328 average, .480 wOBA and .431 ISO, and he owns three singles and three walks without any strikeouts against Lester in eight career encounters with the southpaw.

Cesar Hernandez (2B, CLE) 18% rostered

Matchup: vs. RHP Jose Urena (Game 1)vs. DET RHP Wily Peralta (Game 2)

The switch-hitting Hernandez draws a good matchup Wednesday in both installments of the doubleheader. Urena has continued his career-long struggles against left-handed hitters, allowing a .306 average and .372 wOBA to that handedness, along with a 5.53 xFIP. It's also worth noting Hernandez has tagged the right-hander for three homers over 39 career plate appearances against him. Then there's Peralta, who’s allowed a .516 wOBA to left-handed hitters in a small sample this season and a .291 average and .362 wOBA to that handedness over his career. Hernandez is actually responsible for a small percentage of those numbers, as he’s posted a .462 average and never struck out against Peralta in 13 career encounters. What’s more, the veteran infielder has been at his best facing righties at home, as he owns a .332 wOBA and .207 ISO in that split. Detroit’s bullpen could also play a big role in both games, which would also be good for Hernandez – Tigers relievers have pitched to a .307 BAA and .356 wOBA while logging the eighth-most innings over the last two weeks.

ALSO CONSIDER: Max Stassi (C, LAA) - 31% rostered

Hitter Streamers for 6/30 - Deeper Leagues

Yonathan Daza (OF, COL) 10% rostered

Matchup: vs. PIT RHP Chad Kuhl

Daza has been seeing regular playing time and went into Tuesday night with a .325 average and .790 OPS across 69 games. The young outfielder has offered a bit of everything fantasy-wise, lacing 10 doubles, two triples, two home runs, 24 RBI, a pair of steals and 20 runs. He’ll be set up nicely to pad that line further Wednesday at Coors against Kuhl, who’s pitched to a 6.04 ERA, .337 wOBA and 5.40 xFIP on the road. Meanwhile, while left-handed hitters have given Kuhl the most trouble on paper by far, he’s been extremely fortunate versus righties with a .183 BABIP in that split. The righty-swinging Daza has also taken full advantage of Coors conditions and particularly in same-handed matchups, in which he’s posted a .385 average, .393 wOBA and 137 wRC+.

Starlin Castro (2B, 3B, WAS) - 7% rostered

Matchup: vs.RHP Drew Rasmussen (opener) / RHP Michael Wacha (primary pitcher)

Castro has been seeing regular starts and taking advantage of them, as he went into Tuesday with a .333 average, .843 OPS and four doubles over his previous nine games. The veteran will likely only face Rasmussen only once before he gets a crack at Wacha, who’s allowed a .292 average, .339 wOBA and 1.6 HR/9 to right-handed hitters on the road, and who’s been battered by Castro for a .429 average with two doubles, three homers and nine RBI in 29 career encounters. Castro has enjoyed more success versus lefties this season, but he still carries a .272 average and has laced 355 extra-base hits against righties during his career.

Taylor Ward (OF, LAA) 5% rostered

Matchup: @ NYY RHP Domingo German

Ward is hitting a pedestrian .236, but he’s mustered a solid .751 OPS largely because of the fact he’s laced 18 of his 39 hits for extra bases. He therefore brings some nice upside to the table against German, who’s allowed a 2.8 HR/9 and .355 wOBA to right-handed hitters at Yankee Stadium, and who’s pitched to a 7.04 ERA, .292 average and .358 wOBA across 23 June innings. Meanwhile, Ward has slugged six of his seven homers off righties, and he owns a .336 wOBA, 27.3 percent line-drive rate and 45.5 percent hard-contact rate in same-handed matchups on the road. He also carried a .347 wOBA for the month of June into Tuesday night’s action, furthering his appeal.

Brian Goodwin (OF, CWS) 1% rostered

Matchup: vs. MIN RHP Bailey Ober

Goodwin makes for a low-rostered left-handed White Sox bat to roll out against Ober, who’s allowed a .436 average, .529 wOBA and 3.4 HR/9 to the 43 left-handed hitters he’s faced thus far in his young career. For his part, Goodwin is seeing regular starts in the outfield and went into Tuesday with a .357 average, .463 wOBA and .286 ISO in 33 plate appearances against righties. Goodwin has largely generated those jaw-dropping numbers courtesy of a 35.0 percent line-drive rate and 50.0 percent hard-contact rate in that split, and he’s an excellent hitter against Ober’s trademark four-seam fastball, posting a .980 OPS and .404 wOBA versus that pitch in his career.

ALSO CONSIDER: Edmundo Sosa (2B, SS, STL) - 1% rostered

Pitcher Streamers for 6/30 - Shallow Leagues

Kwang Hyun Kim (SP, STL) 20% rostered

Matchup: vs. ARI RHP Riley Smith

Kim has a 3.98 ERA that belies his 1-5 record, and he’s been at his best at Busch Stadium. The left-hander has a 3.54 ERA and .297 wOBA across 28 home innings, and he’s facing a Diamondbacks team that has been absolutely dreadful on the road the majority of the season. Arizona is ranked in the bottom half of MLB with 3.8 runs per road game, and they sport a -11.2 wRAA and .286 wOBA on the road in the last month. They’ve also had a difficult time versus lefties when traveling, as evidenced by a .213 average and .281 wOBA in that split in the last two months.

Pitcher Streamers for 6/30 - Deeper Leagues

Vladimir Gutierrez (SP, CIN) 20% rostered

Matchup: vs. SDP RHP Joe Musgrove

Gutierrez doesn’t have the best matchup on paper – either against the Padres as a whole and in terms of his opposite number – but the young right-hander has looked right at home in the bigs despite his inexperience. He’s proven adept at navigating his hitter-friendly home park thus far as well, as he’s pitched to a 3.46 ERA there in 13 innings. The Padres are naturally a dangerous lineup, but they’ve been nothing special against righties on the road in the last month – San Diego went into Tuesday with a .223 average, -1.7 wRAA and pedestrian .304 wOBA in that split.
