Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Hitter, Pitcher Lineup Picks For Wednesday 6/2

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 6/2/21. Juan Carlos Blanco identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Baseball is back, and fantasy managers in daily leagues no doubt already have holes to fill. The easiest way to do that is with streamers. Fortunately, RotoBaller has you covered with daily streaming picks.

Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best fantasy baseball streaming picks - options to consider in fantasy baseball daily leagues. Additionally, these recommendations can be useful for fantasy managers setting DFS lineups.

Wednesday brings us what isn't quite a full schedule, but one that has plenty of good opportunities for streaming bats given that Coors Field, Camden Yards and Great American Ballpark are among the venues where games will unfold. As customary, we'll run down four bats apiece  to consider in shallow and deeper leagues that could well be available on your waiver wire and lower-rostered in DFS contests, and we'll do the same for a pair of arms taking the hill. Roster percentages referenced are from Yahoo! leagues.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 6/2 - Shallow Leagues

Brad Miller (1B/2B/3B/OF, PHI) 38% rostered

Matchup: @ CIN RHP Vladimir Gutierrez

Miller has been excellent this season, slashing .292/.353/.481 with three doubles, one triple, five home runs and 15 RBI across 116 plate appearances. He continues to see regular playing time with Bryce Harper (wrist) still on the injured list, and Wednesday, he gets a matchup against the inexperienced Gutierrez, who was impressive in his first Big League start but who had his share of troubles keeping the ball in the park during his time in the minors. Miller owns a .347 wOBA and .804 OPS versus right-handed pitching, along with a .281 average on the road overall.

Anthony Santander (OF, BAL) 59% rostered

Matchup: vs. MIN RHP Randy Dobnak

Santander entered Tuesday night’s action with a .261 average and .430 slugging percentage, and he’s running hot with a .350 average and .966 OPS across his last 10 games. The switch-hitting slugger could be primed for success against Dobnak, who’s struggled considerably versus left-handed hitters. The Twins starter has given up a .298 average, .927 OPS and .397 wOBA to the 51 left-handed hitters he’s faced, and four of the 14 hits he’s given up in that split have gone for extra bases. Then, Santander could continue to benefit when Dobnak exits, as Minnesota relievers have allowed a .399 wOBA and 20 extra-base hits (nine doubles, one triple, 10 homers) to lefty bats in the last month.

Jonathan Villar (2B/3B/SS, NYM) 44% rostered

Matchup: @ ARI LHP Madison Bumgarner

The switch-hitting Villar finished May with a 12-game on-base streak, a span during which he also belted three homers. The veteran gets a matchup against a struggling southpaw in Bumgarner, who’s pitched to a 9.90 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 2.7 HR/9 over his last two starts. Some of the veteran’s peripheral numbers, such as his 3.60 xERA, would suggest he hasn’t been as bad as some of his performances suggest, but he’s given up a .278 average, .876 OPS and .368 wOBA to the 81 right-handed bats he’s faced at home. Meanwhile, Villar has been better against righties than southpaws in this season’s modest sample, but he’s posted a respectable .728 OPS against that handedness for his career and also owns a double and a homer against Bumgarner in six prior career encounters.

Ty France (1B/2B/3B, SEA) -29% rostered

Matchup: vs. OAK LHP Sean Manaea

France has come back from a stint on the injured list in fine form, as he went into Tuesday slashing .345/.387/.414 with two doubles and six RBI in his first eight games back. France has been excellent versus lefties all season as well, posting a .295 average, .831 OPS and .362 wOBA against that handedness, along with a 31.3 percent line-drive rate. Meanwhile, Manaea has been absolutely decimated by right-handed hitters on the road, allowing a .429 average, .466 wOBA and 1.6 HR/9 over a 62-batter sample.

Hitter Streamers for 6/2 - Deep Leagues

Yonathan Daza (OF, COL) 3% rostered

Matchup:  vs. TEX RHP Jordan Lyles

Daza headed into Tuesday night’s action with a .316 average and .363 OBP in a sizable sample of 125 plate appearances, and he could certainly be teed up for a golden opportunity to extend his hot streak against Lyles. The veteran righty has been about as bad as his numbers indicate, as he sports a 5.24 xERA and .288 BAA while also allowing a career-high 47.7 percent hard-hit rate per Statcast. Daza has been at his best versus lefties, but he boasts a .368 wOBA and .858 OPS against right-handed pitching at Coors Field. Meanwhile, Lyles is giving up a .317 average and .382 wOBA to right-handed hitters, numbers that could certainly be exacerbated by the extreme hitter-friendly conditions at Coors.

Andrelton Simmons (SS, MIN) 5% rostered

Matchup: @ BAL RHP Matt Harvey

Simmons is a sneaky way to get some right-handed exposure to Harvey, who’s allowed a .336 average and .378 wOBA to that handedness, along with a 20.0 percent HR/FB rate to righty bats at home. Simmons has struggled against right-handed pitching to an extent over this season’s sample, but he owns a .271 average against that handedness for his career and is also sporting a .410 wOBA against the four-seam fastball, Harvey’s most often-thrown pitch and one he’s giving up a .414 wOBA on when throwing this season.

Ryan Zimmerman (1B/3B, WAS) 3% rostered    (UPDATE: With Zimmerman out of the lineup, suggesting teammates Yan Gomes and Josh Harrison, both 17% rostered in Yahoo leagues, as viable alternatives)

Matchup: @ ATL LHP Drew Smyly

Zimmerman is no longer an everyday player, but he could well be in the lineup Wednesday considering his extensive career success versus left-handed pitching. The veteran slugger owns a .378 average, .407 wOBA and 30.8 percent line-drive rate against southpaws this season, while Smyly has yielded a .615 slugging percentage, .381 wOBA and 37.1 percent hard-contact rate to right-handed hitters at home. He’s also given up at least five earned runs in half his eight starts, underscoring how vulnerable and erratic he’s been.

Willie Calhoun (OF, TEX) 10% rostered

Matchup: @ COL RHP Antonio Senzatela

Calhoun represents some low-rostered exposure to the Rangers-Rockies Coors matchup, and he’s a particularly appealing choice when considering how poor Senzatela has been against lefty bats. The veteran right-hander is allowing a .308 average and .351 wOBA to left-handed hitters, while Calhoun has touched up righties for a .334 wOBA and .761 OPS. Additionally, Rockies relievers could also make great targets for Calhoun, as they’ve given up a 6.26 ERA, .309 average and .385 wOBA to the 108 lefty hitters they faced at home in May.

Pitcher Streamers for 6/2 - Shallow Leagues

Shane McClanahan (SP, TAM) - 46% rostered

Matchup: @ NYY LHP Jordan Montgomery

McClanahan is facing the Yankees at their place, but New York is averaging just 3.9 runs per game at home and carries a 27.4 percent strikeout rate, -3.4 wRAA and .283 wOBA versus lefties there over the last month. Meanwhile, McClanahan sport a high-90s fastball and elite 17.9 percent swinging-strike rate, and he’s been at his best on the road. The surging southpaw owns a 2.77 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and has yet to allow a home run in 13 away frames, making him an intriguing streamer despite a matchup that many might stay away from based on the Yankees’ reputation.

Pitcher Streamers for 6/2 - Deep Leagues

Chris Flexen (SP, SEA) 7% rostered

Matchup: vs. OAK LHP Sean Manaea

Flexen has been surprisingly effective after a season away in the KBO, and he owns a solid 4.34 ERA after he bounced back from his worst outing of the season against the Padres by shutting the Rangers out over seven innings his last time out. Flexen has been excellent at home as well, posting a 1.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 0.3 HR/9 across 27.2 frames, and while the opposing A’s do have good numbers on the road against righties, Flexen’s solid control (1.9 BB/9) and ability to keep the ball in the park could certainly help to another strong outing at home.
