Denver Broncos offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James (Achilles) suffered a torn Achilles while working out away from the team facilities on Tuesday, according to sources. His $10 million salary for the upcoming season is now in jeopardy with the Broncos no longer obligated to pay him because he wasn't working out at the team's facilities. However, doctors told James that they're hopeful that he won't miss the entire 2021 season. Surgery is scheduled for later this week, and the Broncos will know more about a recovery timetable then. James signed a four-year, $51 million deal in 2019 but has been limited to three games with the Broncos. He suffered a knee injury in 2019 and opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. He's at risk of being put on the Non-Football Injury list and losing a portion or all of his $10 million base salary in 2021. Backup left tackle Calvin Anderson could be the first up to replace James on the right side this year.--Keith HernandezRead More News
