The Washington Football Team acquired offensive guard Ereck Flowers from the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday in a trade that involves a swap of late-round draft picks, according to sources. The move frees up some money for the Dolphins, while Washington receives an offensive lineman that will compete for a starting job this year. Flowers initially transitioned from tackle to guard in D.C. and was reportedly happy about the move to reunite with a coaching staff that turned his career around. A former first-round pick of the New York Giants in 2015, Flowers never lived up to expectations while in the Big Apple. He started all of the 2019 season with Washington and earned a three-year, $30 million deal with Miami in 2020. Flowers' salary cap hit is $10 million this year and increases to $11 million in 2022.--Keith HernandezRead More News
