Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Hitter, Pitcher Lineup Picks for Tuesday 8/18

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 8/18/20. Frank Ammirante identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

The MLB season is filled with ebbs and flows, but the key to success is to find some gems to stream! Today we're going to stack a bunch of Rays as they begin a three-game series against Masahiro Tanaka at Yankee Stadium .

When choosing my daily hitter streamers, I examine their platoon splits, lineup position, and pitching matchup. With pitchers, I account for the opposing lineup, team ballpark, and recent performance to help make my decision.

Each of my streamers will be rostered in between 0-40% of Yahoo leagues, with a mixed focus on both shallow and deeper formats. Today, I will be providing a streamer for each position, including two starting pitchers. Let’s take a look at the Tuesday slate and dig out some streamer gems to help you start off the week with a bang!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 8/18 - Infielders

Sean Murphy (C, OAK, RHB) 21% Rostered

Matchup: @ ARZ RHP Luke Weaver

Murphy is starting to heat up lately, going 5-for-15 (.333) with five runs, one home run, and one RBI in his last five games. He has prospect pedigree, ranking #35 on MLB.com's Top-100 list entering the season. He goes up against Weaver, who has allowed four or more runs in three of his four starts. He's also failed to last past the fourth inning.

Ji-Man Choi (1B, TB, SHB) 3% Rostered

Matchup: @ NYY RHP Masahiro Tanaka

Choi is scuffling this season, slashing .180/.282/.328 on the season, but as a lefty at Yankee Stadium against Tanaka, this could be an opportunity for the Korean first baseman to make an impact. Choi has mostly hit cleanup when he's been in the lineup, so he's in a prime position for run production.

Luis Urias (2B/SS, MIL, RHB) 9% Rostered

Matchup: @ MIN RHP Kenta Maeda

Urias has been on fire this season, slashing .474/.500/.579 with three runs and four RBI in 20 plate appearances. He has a tough matchup against Maeda, but we need to ride the hot streak here. The good news is that Maeda has lasted six innings or less in three of his four starts this season.

Yandy Diaz (1B/3B, TB, RHB) 19% Rostered

Matchup: @ NYY RHP Masahiro Tanaka

Diaz has become a common stream in this article because he hasn't hit a homer yet, but he's continued to see the ball well with 17 walks and only 11 strikeouts. Perhaps a trip to Yankee Stadium is exactly what he needs to help find his power stroke.

Willy Adames (SS, TB, RHB) 12% Rostered

Matchup: @ NYY RHP Masahiro Tanaka

Adames has really turned it on of late, going 9-for-24 (.375) with seven runs, two home runs, and four RBI in his last seven games. He has hit in the five or six slot in four of his last six games, which is good to see. Let's ride the hot streak with another Ray.

Hitter Streamers for 8/18 - Outfielders

Randal Grichuk (OF, TOR, RHB) 13% Rostered

Matchup: @ BAL LHP Wade LeBlanc

Grichuk finds himself on this list for the second straight day, as he continues to mash, going 2-for-5 with one run, one home run, and four RBI in the first game of this three-game series at Camden Yards. He's now homered in consecutive games and three of the last four. Locked into the two-hole, Grichuk is a must-stream.

Yoshi Tsutsugo (3B/OF, TB, LHB) 11% Rostered

Matchup: @ NYY RHP Masahiro Tanaka

Another Ray to play in an attempt to take advantage of that short-porch in right-field. Tsutsugo is heating up, going 5-for-12 (.417) with three runs, two home runs, and seven RBI in his last three games. He's my favorite Ray to stream in this game.

Eric Thames (1B/OF, WAS, LHB) 6% Rostered

Matchup: @ ATL RHP Josh Tomlin

Thames is always in play against a righty, so we're going to stream him against a homer-prone Josh Tomlin (1.59 HR/9 in 2019). Thames homered in his last game, so perhaps this could be the start of a hot-streak for the Nationals' slugger.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/18

Tony Gonsolin (RHP, LAD) vs. SEA 27% Rostered

Gonsolin has looked dominant this season, pitching 8.2 shutout innings combined in his two starts, allowing only four hits while walking two and striking out nine. He takes on a Mariners' offense that came into Monday night struggling against righties, posting a .294 wOBA (25th) and 23.9 K% (15th). The Dodgers increased Gonsolin's pitch count from 63 to 82 in his last start, so there's a chance that we see him eclipse 90 in this one.

Tarik Skubal (LHP, DET) @ CHW 14% Rostered

Skubal came into the season as the fifth-best prospect in the Tigers' system and 50th overall, so the pedigree is high enough to warrant an immediate stream regardless of matchup. LHP Matt Boyd just struck out nine White Sox in only four innings on Monday, so there's a chance that Skubal can do the same in this one. The Tigers' rookie is known for his fastball, which can top up at 98 MPH. He'll likely be limited as the Tigers ramp him up, but he's still worth a stream for his strikeout upside.
