Mitch Garver Beginning Rehab Assignment

Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver (ankle) is headed to a rehab assignment with Double-A Pensacola. He has yet to run the bases yet, but his ankle has been healthy and his rehab assignment isn't expected to be a long one. Garver could be back with the Twins this weekend, barring any setbacks. The 28-year-old has been a nice surprise in 2019, hitting .329/.418/.747 with nine home runs, 20 runs and 19 RBI in 79 at-bats. Given how shallow the catching position is, it's hard to argue that Garver hasn't been relevant in most leagues this season. He'll return and split time with Willians Astudillo and Jason Castro behind the plate when he's ready.
