Austin Meadows Will Not Need Surgery
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Austin Meadows (thumb) will not need surgery on his sprained right thumb. GM Erik Neander believes that Meadows should be able to return in a few weeks. He was placed on the injured list on Sunday, so we'll wait and see what happens. Meadows was crushing the ball, hitting .351/.422/.676 with six home runs and 19 knocked in through 20 games.
