Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Artemi Panarin scored an empty-net goal, his 22nd of the season, in Tuesday's 3-0 win against the Washington Capitals. Panarin has managed goals in back-to-back outings, and he has nine goals with 19 points with a plus-7 rating across the past 13 games. He cut off contract extension negotiations with the organization and notified them he intends to test the free-agent waters. If the Blue Jackets weren't in contention, he might have been dealt to another team for the stretch run. However, Columbus is right in the mix in the Metro, so Panarin is likely staying put for now.--Daniel Dobish
