Carolina Hurricanes left wing Brock McGinn (ankle) posted an assist with a plus-2 rating and a blocked shots over 14:19 of ice time in Friday's 5-2 victory against the Vegas Golden Knights. That blocked shot was important, as he took a clapper off the stick of defenseman Shea Theodore. He blocked the shot with his ankle in the final minute of regulation and he was forced to go for X-rays after the game. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said he did not have an immediate update on McGinn's status. Consider him day to day for now.--Daniel Dobish
