New York Rangers defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk (shoulder) was activated off of injured reserve earlier on Monday afternoon. Shattenkirk will return from an eight-game absence on Monday night against the St. Louis Blues. The veteran rearguard has a goal and seven assists through 29 games this season. Shattenkirk was once a fearsome power-play quarterback, but his career has been derailed by injuries over the past two seasons. It is tough to justify keeping him in shallow leagues if he struggles for the next few weeks. Neal Pionk will remain the top power-play defenseman on the Rangers for the time being.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
