Carolina Hurricanes winger Micheal Ferland celebrated his first goal for the team on Friday, finishing off the scoring in a 3-1 road win at Columbus. The former Flame, who was part of the Dougie Hamilton trade, also picked up an assist on the team's second goal. Playing in Calgary, Ferland proved last season that he can be a very useful player in a top-six role and he's also been used on the first line in Carolina to a good effect. He had a team-high six shots on goal against the Jackets, blocked one effort and recorded two hits. Ferland is playing alongside Finns Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen, who have great chemistry between them, so he could get 20-plus goals again and maybe even flirt with the 50-point plateau.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
