Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan is officially calling it quits with the Seahawks following the team's second preseason game. The team reached in the draft by taking Michael Dickson in the fifth round, so Ryan was a likely cap casualty anyway, but Dickson has also clearly outplayed Ryan this preseason by punting the ball further and more accurately than Ryan. A punt return for a touchdown by the Chargers against Ryan helped solidify the decision. Ryan will always be known for his touchdown pass in the NFC Championship and the photo of his terrified passing face that made the rounds on the internet. While punters aren't terribly fantasy relevant from an offensive perspective, a new punter could impact the defensive side of the ball considerably. Dickson has shown a lot of skill at pinning opposing teams inside their own 20 yard line, and this could prove to be a big boost for a defensive unit that is going through a host of changes.--Billy Stonick - RotoBallerRead More News
