Toronto Maple Leafs forward Patrick Marleau solidified Toronto’s win on Thursday with an empty-net goal and also had the primary assist on defenseman Connor Carrick’s game-winner. The points increased Marleau’s streak to five games, and the empty-netter marked goals in three straight games. Marleau has been skating on a line with Nazem Kadri and Leo Komarov and while the production for Komarov hasn’t seen an uptick, Kadri has been a great source of scoring for the Leafs. The 38-year-old is less than 60 percent owned in both Yahoo and ESPN leagues but is showing that he still has what it takes to be productive, having reached the 20-goal mark for the 15th time in his career.--Kevin Acorn
