Jacob deGrom Throws Two Innings In Simulated Game
Jacob deGrom continues to slowly ramp up his activities in healing from lower back stiffness, and that continued with 30 pitches during two innings of a simulated game on Tuesday morning. The plan now is to let him rest for four full days before starting him in a Grapefruit League game. While we can’t say for sure yet, the math at this point doesn’t seem to be in favor of deGrom being ready for Opening Day. However, starting the second or third game of the season doesn’t seem to be out of the question for deGrom. There’s no reason to knock him down your draft boards.
