FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/8/18): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Only six games tonight so we'll get right into it. Tonight's specimen of games is arguably one of the better slates this week. Last night was a bit of a dud for most players, and most of the teams playing tonight are high-scoring teams that sacrifice defense for pace, exactly what every DFS player wants. Steph Curry, Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, and Dennis Schroder are my go-to higher priced guards for tonight. While Paul George and Al Horford round out my locks for forwards.

There is value out there, but unless there are major injuries, it will be scarce and risky to play value picks. That in mind, it doesn't bother me one bit. I roll with extreme value plays every night and even if they didn't produce, more times than not they at least had the opportunities. So, right off the bat, make sure to give the Washington backcourt a look, while monitoring the Knicks for any indication whether it will be Kyle O'Quinn starting or Michael Beasley.

Below you will find our daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/8/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options, to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Jarrett Jack PG - @ TOR ($4,000)

This was fairly easy. With Jarrett Jack's price and situation, you have to play him if you need value. Without Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks will look wherever they can for offense and that will start with the point guard. Frank Ntilikina is up and coming and will eventually take the starter position away from Jack. Not because Ntilikina is better, but because he needs to develop. Taking that into consideration, Jack will still play and the Knicks will not want to get beat by 60 tonight, so expect Jack to see a bulk of the minutes and do most of his production in the first half.

Kemba Walker PG - @ POR ($8,300)

Probably should have included Kemba Walker in the list up top but I have no problem giving you a slight reasoning why. Compared to every other superstar guard, Walker is getting you the most in return for DFS. Yes, this is stemming from his near-40 points games that he has seemingly grown accustomed to, but regardless you do not want to pass him up on one of those nights. The Trail Blazers have slightly fixed their defensive woes but guards like Walker are still able to score easily and most importantly, exceed their projected against them. If you can spend the money, you might as well go with Walker and his hot streak. Have I mentioned he is due for a rebound game?

Courtney Lee SG - @TOR ($5,100)

Even as someone you could call a Knicks fan I am not a fan of this pick for a multitude of reasons. Courtney Lee is not the most consistent shooter. Actually, consistency and shooting shouldn't even be in the same sentence when talking about Lee. He's also notorious for being in high-usage, high-minute situations and being the best role player he can be, this frustrating every DFS player that rostered him. This is risky, but if one this is certain, when Porzingis is out, Lee and Michael Beasley feast. Lee will take a ton of shots, he honestly might be the best player on the Knicks tonight. But then again, even Nostradamus couldn't predict Courtney Lee explosion.

Also Consider: C.J. McCollum SG - vs. CHA ($6,900)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Taurean Waller-Prince SF - @ORL ($4,500)

If you have talked with me in the chat room, you know how little I advise surrounding yourself with any type of Taurean Prince stock. That doesn't change that he should be able to be a high-impact player tonight. This is literally a game between two of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference. That could either lead to a complete disaster and both teams play poorly, or it could open the door for a secondary scorer like Prince to find his groove. While this is still risky based on his scoring ability, he still receives enough minutes to be useful and has a decently low price tag. I guess I'll just say Prince has upside tonight.

Maxi Kleber PF - @ GSW ($3,500)

The only thing wrong with Dirk Nowitzki's prodigy Maxi Kleber is that the former is taking too many minutes away from the latter. Not gonna lie, I could watch Dirk play all day, but at the same time, it is slightly cringe-worthy. While Nowitzki will still get his minutes, expect Kleber to be a quick replacement when the Warriors get rolling. Kleber can shoot and when he get's the minutes he been a fantastic fantasy asset, look for him to get a decent increase tonight and moving forward you should keep an eye out.

Larry Nance Jr. PF - vs. OKC ($4,200)

This one is fairly obvious due to his price, but Larry Nance Jr. is a nightly double-double threat. Unfortunately his style of play and role inhibits his ability to really accumulate stats, but his hustle and athleticism always give him an advantage. Hoping that Steven Adams will be forced to battle with Brook Lopez and Julius Randle the whole game, this should open up an excess of rebounds for Nance. The Thunder defense is still fairly stingy, so this pick is purely based of his upside in rebounds and that the Thunder struggle more against athletic forwards.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Marreese Speights C - vs. ATL ($3,700)

Marreese Speights has been benefitting from injuries and that time might be coming to an end sooner rather than later. While Speights continues to prove he has value, he's become one of the more consistent player for the Magic and it's important to capitalize on that. While that isn't saying much since he is still a streaky shooter, it gives him more than enough opportunities to produce. The Hawks struggle mightily across the board when it comes to defense, so expect the inexperience to be exploited as Speights rains down three after three.
