FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/6/16): MLB DFS Advice

Happy Tuesday, daily fantasy players! Hope everyone had an awesome Labor Day weekend. Let's win some cash on this lovely 15 game Main slate that begins at 7:05 EDT tonight. Before we jump into my selections, let's take a look at a few Vegas lines that are of interest. The games with the highest over/under run totals begin with the contest at Coors Field between the Giants and Rockies (11.5), followed by the Tigers at White Sox (9.5), and then a handful of games (Cardinals at Pirates, Mets at Reds, Cubs at Brewers, and the Royals at Twins) all have a figure of nine. The heaviest moneyline favorites of the night are the Red Sox (-181), Dodgers (-165), the Cubs (-173) and the Marlins (-161).

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 9/6/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including Draft Kit + DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through the playoffs. Premium DFS lineup picks, expert lineups, tools and more - seven days a week. You can see screenshots of our NFL Premium and MLB Premium and DFS tools. What are you waiting for?

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Both the Giants and the Rockies are strong options tonight with the game being played at Coors and two pitchers that have been less than stellar. But since you likely knew those are two great options, I wanted to showcase a few different options for you below:

Chicago Cubs versus Wily Peralta

Just a fraction of a point behind the Nationals, the Cubs have the second highest run projection of the day for games outside of Coors Field, at 5.1. Wily Peralta is a familiar foe for the Cubs, and one they've picked on quite a bit before. Peralta is the type of pitcher I like to refer to as an equal opportunity splits guy, meaning you could attack him with right-handed or left-handed batters - as both have hit him extremely hard this season. In 2016, Peralta has allowed a .388 wOBA and .529 slugging percentage to lefties, and a .385 wOBA and .529 slugging percentage to right-handed batters. While the game isn't being played in Wrigley, the fact that it's in Milwaukee could be beneficial. It's a great park for offenses and there's much less a chance the batted ball is effected by the weather in park like Miller. My favorite Cubs of the night are Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant and Dexter Fowler. For salary relief, Tommy La Stella and Jorge Soler are strong options as well.

Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed batters versus Shelby Miller

The Dodgers are loaded with talented left-handed batters that can clear the fences with relative ease and tonight they have a great matchup with Shelby Miller on the bump. In 2016, Miller has had his fair share of struggles, and a lot of it stems with his inability to retire lefties. He's allowed a .414 wOBA and .565 slugging percentage splits, while giving up 1.83 HR/9 to lefties. My favorite Dodgers tonight are Corey Seager, Joc Pederson, Chase Utley and Adrian Gonzalez. Josh Reddick and non-lefty Justin Turner are solid options as well.

Also Consider: Miami Marlins versus Adam Morgan; Washington Nationals against Williams Perez

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Corey Kluber (SP, CLE) - $10,800

In the underwhelming crop of pitchers that are today's options, Kluber stands out from the crowd as the strongest cash game option of the evening. The Astros have some pop, but they're pretty strikeout prone against right-handed pitching (~25% K rate on the season) and they also feature one of the lowest projected run totals today at 3.2. In addition to that, Cleveland is a pretty strong pitcher's park, and Kluber has been great this season with the home crowd behind him, posting a 2.98 ERA split. He's also been fantastic over his past 10 starts, exceeding his price implied value in eight of those ten games and owns a 9.5 K/9 this season.

Clay Buchholz (SP, BOS) - $6,000

I cringed as I typed out his name, and you likely did the same when you read it, but hear me out. As I mentioned above, the pitching options today are very underwhelming, and Clay has a few things working in his favor tonight. For starters, San Diego is an excellent pitcher's park, the Red Sox are heavy favorites and the Padres' lineup doesn't pack much heat. In addition to that, he has actually pitched well in his last two starts, exceeding value in both and he managed 55 FanDuel points in his most recent start. His strikeout rate hasn't been too impressive, but his strikeout projection gets a major boost while playing San Diego, and I think the combination of that and his chances for getting 12 points in a win are good. He's risky, of course, but at this price he' a relative bargain and I think he could easily cruise past value. Just as a reminder, this is a pick I would only suggest in tournament formats.

Also Consider: Gio Gonzalez (SP, WAS) - $8,700

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C) - Yasmani Grandal (C, LAD) - $3,200

The Yasmanian Devil, like a lot of his Dodgers teammates, has been scorching the baseball of late, posting a 42% hard-hit rate over the last 15 days. The switch-hitting catcher has fantastic splits as well, and should be able to tee off on Shelby Miller tonight. In 2016, Grandal owns a .334 wOBA split and a .249 ISO.

First Base (1B) - Miguel Cabrera (1B, DET) - $3,600

Miguel at this price point is such an incredible bargain. Cabrera gets a park upgrade tonight, faces a subpar opposing pitcher in Miguel Gonzalez, and also boasts good splits (.536 slugging percentage). In addition to that, Cabrera has a 50% hard hit rate over the past 15 days.

Second Base (2B) - Matt Carpenter (2B, STL) - $3,900

It's pretty easy to pencil Carpenter in anytime he faces an average-to-below-average right-handed pitcher, which is the case this evening. Carpenter gives you great lineup order value as the lead off hitter and he has excellent splits as well - .406 wOBA and a .290 ISO.

Shortstop (SS) - Corey Seager (SS, LAD) - $3,700

Seager for under 4K? Pencil me in for at least 10 shares. Seriously, Seager has been fantastic this season and the somewhat streaky rookie is firing on all cylinders right now, boasting a 47% hard-hit rate over the past 15 days. He also faces Shelby Miller and owns great splits against right-handed pitching with his .413 wOBA and .236 ISO.

Third Base (3B) - Jedd Gyorko (3B, STL) - $3,300

One of the things I like most about Gyorko right now (well, in addition to his cheap price, that is) is the fact that he's been hitting high in the order recently. He's not only been given more at-bats, but hitting behind Matt Carpenter is another positive. Gyorko also has strong splits against right-handed pitchers, as showcased by his .281 ISO and .526 slugging percentage.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Jackie Bradley Jr. (OF, BOS) - $3,200

While Bradley gets a downgrade today from a park factor perspective, it's not as big of a downgrade for left-handed batters as you think. I really like Bradley's price and I think he and the rest of the Red Sox pick on Paul Clemens quite a bit tonight. For the season, Bradley has a .378 wOBA and .268 ISO split against right-handed pitching.

David Dahl (OF, COL) - $3,900

Coors Field exposure at this price point is really great, especially when you consider the Rockies have the highest projected run total tonight (6) and Dahl has really strong numbers against right-handed pitching. In 2016, he's posted a .388 wOBA and a .550 slugging percentage.

Max Kepler (OF, MIN) - $3,300

Kepler in this price range is something I really can't resist. I like the matchup this evening quite a bit, and I think he and his .250 ISO and .504 slugging percentage splits get the best of Dillon Gee once or twice.
