Giants Fire Head Coach Brian Daboll
The New York Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll on Monday, sources tell Adam Schefter of ESPN. The move came after the Giants blew a fourth-quarter lead to lose to the Chicago Bears 24-20 on Sunday after rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart left the contest with a concussion. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, who has interviewed for head-coaching jobs in recent seasons, will take over as the interim head coach going forward. The Giants went 2-8 under Daboll this year in his fourth season with the team. New York set a franchise record with their 11th straight road loss in Chicago in Week 10, a year after the Giants set a franchise record with a 10-game losing streak last year under Daboll. In his first year in the Big Apple, Daboll led the G-Men to the playoffs and was named Coach of the Year, but it fell apart quickly after that.
