Time to Drop Bhayshul Tuten? Fantasy Football Week 8 Waiver Wire Outlook (2025)

Bhayshul Tuten - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Sleepers, NFL DFS Picks

Should I drop Bhayshul Tuten for fantasy football Week 8? Is Bhayshul Tuten a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were embarrassed by the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7. Quarterback Matthew Stafford and company came into Wembley Stadium in England to absolutely pummel the helpless big cats.

Their RB2, Bhayshul Tuten, didn't have a great game. He only carried the ball five times for 22 yards and didn't get any receiving work.

While Tuten had plenty of hype in the pre-draft process, there were also a lot of detractors. And he's still the backup to Travis Etienne Jr., who had a nice first few games. So is it time to drop the rookie?

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Drop Bhayshul Tuten in Fantasy Football?

No, no, no, no, no. No. Don't drop Tuten. Seriously, don't. I know he hasn't done much this year, but don't do it. He injured his shoulder in his Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was limited at practices every single week from Week 3 to Week 6.

Given that he had his best game in Week 2 and in Week 7, he had five carries to Etienne's eight, it's pretty clear that he was limited by the injury. His share of the backfield rushes jumped, and likely would have been higher if Jacksonville hadn't been getting blown out.

There's been an alarming decline in Etienne's efficiency recently. For starters, it looks like there was a clear role for Tuten that was greatly diminished due to his shoulder injury, as you can see from the above post. But it wasn't just Etienne's yards per carry that plummeted.

In his last three games, he's forced zero missed tackles. His elusiveness and ability to pick up yards after contact have fallen off a cliff, and it doesn't look like they'll be coming up any time soon. In fact, we've seen the same thing happen to Etienne in recent seasons.

Tuten's athletic talent is absolutely off the charts, and in a bigger role, he could smash, or at the very worst, be a very viable fantasy play. It doesn't make sense to drop him, even if you don't think he'll ever have a better role than that of a committee back.

Tuten ran a 4.32-second 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine, weighing in at 207 pounds. He's the fastest RB weighing 200 or more pounds at the NFL combine of all time -- only Chris Johnson and Dri Archer were faster, and they both weighed under 200 pounds.

Tuten's acceleration is absurd, and he has the potential to break off multiple long touchdown runs and catches if he starts getting good volume. New Jaguars head coach Liam Coen has also coached up the offensive line impressively -- they're one of the best units in the NFL at both pass and run-blocking despite being much maligned in 2024.

A healthy Tuten coming out of a bye and a seriously regressing Etienne could be the recipe for a big backfield switch and a new must-start running back in fantasy football. If Tuten is on waivers, you need to grab him.

Who Should I Pick Up for Fantasy Football?

Tuten, if you don't already have him. If you do, and you need more help at running back, it helps to take a look at the best offensive situations and see who would benefit most from an injury to their starter. One such player is Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai

The rookie scored 17.4 PPR fantasy points in Week 7, so it might be hard to get your hands on him in your leagues. But he's worth blowing a pretty solid amount of FAAB on and using your top waiver claim to get him.
