Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Ladd McConkey, WR, Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey had a standout performance in the team's last-second 29-27 win against the Miami Dolphins, catching seven passes for 100 yards and a touchdown on nine targets. He led the team in nearly every receiving category, stepping up with Quentin Johnston (hamstring) out, and made a crucial 42-yard reception with seconds left to set up Cameron Dicker's game-winning field goal. This is McConkey's second straight week with a touchdown after barely seeing any red zone targets in the first four games of the season.
McConkey is expected to remain active in Week 7, as the 5-1 Indianapolis Colts visit the Chargers at SoFi Stadium. The Colts' pass defense has been average, and with Johnston's status still uncertain, McConkey should be in line for another productive game. His rapport with Herbert is starting to resemble that of the end of the 2024 season. McConkey is a dependable WR3 with WR2 upside moving forward.
George Pickens, WR, Cowboys
Through six weeks, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens leads the NFL with six touchdown receptions, while his 525 yards trail only Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua. Asked on Tuesday about a potential contract extension, Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones touched upon Pickens' fit within the locker room before saying the team would need to think about "having some room available if [they] are gonna pay a second receiver at that level."
The Cowboys acquired Pickens in an offseason trade, and as he plays out the final season of his rookie contract, he currently represents the gem of the 2026 free agency class at the position. It remains to be seen if he can keep up his torrid pace when CeeDee Lamb (ankle) returns from injury, but wherever he ends up next season, he'll likely see a deal in excess of $30 million per year. He should be viewed as a fringe WR1 in both redraft and dynasty formats.
D'Andre Swift, RB, Bears
Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (groin) was listed as a limited practice participant on Thursday due to a groin injury. Swift was not on Wednesday's injury report, which could indicate that he tweaked the groin during Thursday's practice. The 26-year-old has recorded 447 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns on 85 total touches through five games so far this season.
If he is unable to suit up in Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints, Bears running back Kyle Monangai would likely see a majority of the backfield work. Third-year back Roschon Johnson could factor into the mix as well. Assuming Swift can play on Sunday, he profiles as a solid fantasy RB2 in Week 7.
Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Colts
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. turned in a slow performance in a 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6. Pittman caught just two of his three targets for 20 yards in the close win, breaking a five-game streak where he caught at least four passes or a touchdown.
The veteran took a backseat to Tyler Warren and Josh Downs against Arizona, but he had been operating as the Colts' top wide receiver in the five previous games before Week 6's win over the Cardinals. Pittman will now look to bounce back in Week 7's road matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. He can be deployed as a WR3 in fantasy for that contest.
