DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football Saturday Evening Slate (8/30/25)

Cade Klubnik - College Football QB Power Rankings, NFL Draft

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the Saturday (8/30/25) evening slate in Week 1. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

We're not done yet! There are a lot of good games in prime time as well. LSU and Clemson highlight this slate, but we have some other high-powered offenses in action. Freshman phenom Bryce Underwood is on here, as is former top recruit Malachi Nelson. Are either one of them worth using? We'll get into that.

We have some teams that don't wind up on DFS slates very often, but at least they are all FBS teams. The price is prohibitive on some of these guys, so I'll be playing most of my lineups with mid-range players.

In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the evening DraftKings slate on 8/30/25, starting at 7 pm Eastern. I’ll give multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower end. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Cade Klubnik, Clemson ($8.8K)

Klubnik was under 20 DraftKings points twice last year. It was against Louisville and Georgia. He still put up 27.94 DK points on Texas in the playoffs. He's not quite matchup-proof, but he's close. Clemson's line can keep him upright, even against a strong LSU front.

This should be a close game, meaning Klubnik is going to 30-35 passes. He has improved a lot since the Georgia disaster in Week 1 last year. We'll find out exactly how much in this one.

Bryson Barnes, Utah State ($7.7K)

UTEP's offense could be something to watch this year, but you'd better look away from that defense. Barnes closed the 2024 season with monster games against Colorado State and San Diego State. Both of those teams have better defenses than UTEP. His rushing ability is going to be a cheat code in the Mountain West.

Owen McCown, UTSA ($5.9K)

I've been singing McCown's praises for several months now. I'm not backing off just because he's playing against an SEC team. UTSA will likely need to throw to have a chance in this one. The good news is that McCown doesn't make a lot of mistakes. There's plenty of potential at this price.

Also consider: Marcel Reed, Texas A&M ($8.2K); Bryce Underwood, Michigan ($6.7K); Malachi Nelson, UTEP ($5.7K); E.J. Warner, Fresno State ($4.9K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Le'Veon Moss, Texas A&M ($7K)

Moss is one of the few known commodities on this slate for running backs. Whether the Aggies are up a couple of touchdowns and trying to run the clock out or UTSA keeps it close, both are good game scripts for Moss.

Javen Jacobs, Utah State ($5.7K)

UTEP allowed 179.3 rushing yards per game last year and allowed 25 rushing touchdowns in 12 games. I'm attacking the Miners on the ground. Jacobs ran sparingly at New Mexico last year, but he's the alpha in this backfield and will play most downs due to his receiving prowess.

Hahsaun Wilson, UTEP ($5.4K)

Utah State's run defense was even worse than UTEP's in 2024. The Aggies allowed 214.5 yards per game and 27 touchdowns in 12 games. Wilson was one of the few bright spots for Charlotte last year.

The Miners have had a few good backs come through El Paso in the last decade. Wilson is the latest one. He has been UTEP's best player in camp leading up to the season.

Also consider: Caden Durham, LSU ($6.8K); Jordan Marshall, Michigan ($6.2K); OJ Arnold, Georgia Southern ($5.6K); Rayshon Luke, Fresno State ($5.2K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Antonio Williams, Clemson ($7.4K)

If Clemson is to win this game, it will be because of the veteran connection between Klubnik and Williams. We saw Williams shine last year in Klubnik's breakout season. Not many receivers have the talent to get loose in the LSU secondary. Williams is one of the few who has that ability.

Aaron Anderson, LSU ($6.5K)

I said during the offseason that LSU may have the best WR room in the SEC. I stand by that. Anderson will have the upper hand on the rest of the room thanks to the work he and Garrett Nussmeier put in last year. This game is going to be a treat watching two elite passing games duke it out.

Kenny Odom, UTEP ($5.9K)

Odom is one of the few incumbents in the UTEP offense who kept his job this offseason. He had a strong year with a weaker QB last year. If Nelson is what his recruiting numbers claim, he and Odom could have a monster season. Odom racked up 761 receiving yards last year in a run-heavy offense.

David Amador II, UTSA ($5.5K)

UTSA's run game is not the strength of this team. The Roadrunners are at their best through the air. Amador had 376 receiving yards in just five games for UTSA last year. If the Roadrunners have any chance of hanging around with Texas A&M, this passing game will need to be at its best. That would have to include a big game from Amador and Devin McCuin.

Also consider: KC Concepcion, Texas A&M ($7.2K); Bryant Wesco Jr., Clemson ($6.4K); Ted Hurst, Georgia State ($5.6K); Nic Anderson, LSU ($4.6K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

LSU/Clemson

Both teams have so much talent on offense that it's hard to ignore them even against good defenses. I prefer the LSU side a bit more based solely on price. An LSU stack of Nussmeier, Durham, Aaron Anderson, Nic Anderson, and Barion Brown will cost you $2K less than a Clemson stack of Klubnik, Williams, Wesco, Adam Randall, and T.J. Moore.

I would run one of these stacks based on who you think will win. Many games on this slate promise to be blowouts. That makes it really hard to stack an offense such as USC, Mississippi, or Michigan.

Similarly, stacking a team that will get blown out isn't usually a good idea either. I could understand running pieces of the New Mexico or Georgia State passing offense, but that could just as easily backfire. I'm looking at offenses that I know can have some success on this slate.

UTEP

The new-look UTEP offense has my attention. We don't know much about Nelson, but the price is right against this defense. I will have several Nelson/Odom/Wilson stacks, but I wouldn't go beyond those three until some kind of pecking order is established.

Also consider: Utah State, UTSA (GPP only)
