Roquan Smith 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Slow and Steady

Roquan Smith is the picture of consistency. He has missed just seven games in seven NFL seasons while topping 150 tackles in four straight and finishing top five in total tackles three of those years. There are few, if any, fantasy defenders who have been healthier with safer floors over the past four years. However, the fantasy ceiling for Smith is somewhat capped by the Baltimore scheme. During his time with Chicago, Smith made enough big plays (sacks, forced turnovers, tackles for loss) to contend for fantasy's LB1 overall. However, that big play rate has dropped precipitously with the Ravens. In Baltimore, Smith is registering 37% fewer sacks/forced turnovers than he was in Chicago. Worse, his TFL rate is down 50% from his final three seasons with the Bears. Of course, his consistent health and reliable tackle numbers will keep Smith safely amongst our top five fantasy LBs, largely because those ranks are based on the tackle-friendly Standard IDP Scoring. However, the Georgia alum should struggle to outperform other top tackle producers who also collect more big plays, like Zack Baun or Zaire Franklin, without an injury edge.--Chris Gregory - RotoBallerRead More News
