Kevin McGonigle Doubles, Drives in Two in Three-Hit Game
Kevin McGonigle went 3-for-4 with a walk, a pair of singles, and a double for Double-A Erie on Saturday, stealing a base, scoring once, and collecting two RBI in the process. It was the second straight game with a double and his best showing yet since being promoted to Double-A, now with five games under his belt at that level. The Tigers' top-ranked prospect (MLB No. 6) was raking at High-A before his promotion, slashing .372/.462/.648 with seven home runs in 36 games. The left-handed slugger shot up the prospect ranks last year and has done the same thing this year, positioning himself well for a potential promotion to Triple-A by season's end. Armed with one of the best hit tools in the minors, McGonigle should be stashed away in dynasty formats and could be making waves in redraft leagues as soon as next year.
