Jake Burger Leaves With Quad Discomfort on Friday
Texas Rangers infielder Jake Burger (quadriceps) departed Friday's game against the Houston Astros with discomfort in his left quadriceps. Burger left after going 1-for-3 with a run scored. The Rangers replaced him at first base with Ezequiel Duran. This may lead to another stint on the 10-day injured list for Burger, who was on the shelf in late June with a strained left oblique. The 29-year-old returned from the IL on July 2 and has gone 10-for-35 with one home run and six RBI in nine games since then. Overall, Burger has hit .229/.260/.402 with 11 homers, 35 RBI, 33 runs, and a paltry 2.8% walk rate in 285 plate appearances.
