Jake Burger Leaves with Quad Discomfort on Friday
Jake Burger (quadriceps) departed Friday's game against the Houston Astros with discomfort in his left quadriceps. Burger left after going 1-for-3 with a run scored. The Rangers replaced him at first base with Ezequiel Duran. This may lead to another stint on the 10-day injured list for Burger, who was on the shelf in late June with a strained left oblique. The 29-year-old returned from the IL on July 2 and has gone 10-for-35 with one home run and six RBI in nine games since then. Overall, Burger has hit .229/.260/.402 with 11 homers, 35 RBI, 33 runs, and a paltry 2.8% walk rate in 285 plate appearances.
