The New York Rangers have signed defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov to a seven-year, $49 million contract. He was an unrestricted free agent after completing a two-year, $11.75 million pact with the Los Angeles Kings. Gavrikov led the Kings with 140 blocks in 2024-25 and notched 30 points (five goals, 25 assists) in 82 appearances. The Russian blue-liner plays a steady game and is expected to link up with the Rangers' star defenseman Adam Fox on the top defensive pairing next season. However, his playing style is not especially well suited for fantasy hockey.--Taavi Pailk
