Agustin Ramirez Leads Marlins to Victory
Agustin Ramirez had a big Friday night to lead the Fish to a 6-2 win over the Atlanta Braves. Ramirez came to the plate with two men on in the bottom of the third inning and hit a 436-foot blast against right-hander Didier Fuentes. He later knocked in another run on a single to finish 2-for-4 with four RBI. Ramirez now has four HRs and 10 RBI in 17 games in June, though he has hit just .208 (15-for-72) with 12:3 K:BB this month. Overall, the 23-year-old rookie has held his own with a .239/.290/.458 line, 11 HRs, 27 RBI, 24 runs, and a 16.6% strikeout rate in 217 plate appearances. Ramirez will take on Braves right-hander Grant Holmes for the first time on Saturday.
