Logan Gilbert Fans 10 in Return on Monday
Logan Gilbert (elbow) did not miss a beat in Monday's 2-0 loss to the Red Sox. Gilbert, who had been on the injured list since late April due to a right elbow flexor strain, pitched five innings, allowing two runs on three hits (including a solo home run) and a walk with 10 strikeouts. While he came away with the loss, this was a highly encouraging start for fantasy managers and the Mariners, who have dealt with numerous rotation injuries. The 28-year-old is now 1-2 with a 2.55 ERA, a 0.79 WHIP, and a 13.75 K/9 rate in seven starts and 35 1/3 IP. His next scheduled start will be a tough one at the Cubs, but fantasy managers will likely feel more confident throwing their ace out there after his stellar return performance.
