James Cook 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Is He Due For Some Touchdown Regression?
James Cook has posted strong fantasy numbers in consecutive seasons. He finished as the RB12 in PPR formats in 2023 and the RB8 in PPR formats in 2024. Last year, Cook ran 207 times for 1,009 yards and 16 touchdowns across 16 games. He also caught 32 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns through the air. However, some touchdown regression should be coming his way. After scoring just four rushing touchdowns in his first two NFL campaigns, the 25-year-old tied the franchise record for most rushing touchdowns in a season by a Bills running back. So, it's hard to believe that Cook will score another 16 rushing touchdowns in 2025. He only saw 207 carries last season, and Ray Davis should continue to have a role in this Buffalo offense. Even though the former Georgia product played under 50% of the team's offensive snaps in eight of 17 games in 2024, he should be a strong RB2 option for fantasy managers this season. He has stayed relatively healthy in his career, and this is a contract year for him. Cook averaged 16.7 PPR fantasy points per game last year.
