Boston Red Sox shortstop prospect Marcelo Mayer went 2-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Durham on Friday evening. This outing snapped Mayer's seven-game power drought. During this seven-game slump, the No. 8-ranked prospect in the sport held a disappointing .179/.324/.179 slash line with no extra-base hits. However, Mayer was able to break out of this slump on Friday evening. Through 43 total games this season with Triple-A Worcester, the former fourth overall pick has held a .271/.347/.471 slash line with five doubles, nine long balls, two stolen bases, and a 38:20 K:BB.
