The Baltimore Orioles announced on Tuesday that they placed right-hander Cody Poteet (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to April 21) with right-shoulder inflammation and recalled right-hander Brandon Young from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move. Poteet's right shoulder was apparently giving him problems in his first outing of the season on Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds, when he allowed five earned runs on six hits while walking two and striking out one in 2 2/3 innings of work out of the bullpen in a 24-2 shellacking. It's unclear how long the 30-year-old veteran reliever will be on the injured list, but fantasy managers can continue to ignore him whenever he gets back. Poteet has never thrown more than 30 2/3 innings at the big-league level since debuting with the Miami Marlins back in 2021.--Keith Hernandez
