NFL Draft Predictions: 10 Players The Dallas Cowboys Could Select In The First Round

Matthew Golden - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks, NFL Draft

Who could the Dallas Cowboys select with their first round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. What players should the Dallas Cowboys draft.

NFL Draft Predictions: 10 Players The Dallas Cowboys Could Select In The First Round

With the 2025 NFL Draft just under a month away, let’s take a look at the 10 players the Dallas Cowboys can select with their first round pick.

Georgia Bulldogs - College Team Logo Stock

No. 10: Mykel Williams, DE

One of the Cowboys’ most impactful losses in free agency was the departure of longtime pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence. With the No.12 pick, they can find a replacement in Mykel Williams. Williams spent his three-year college career with Georgia. He captured a National Championship in 2022. He had 14 career sacks and 67 combined tackles.

Georgia Bulldogs - College Team Logo Stock

No. 9: Jalon Walker, DE

Instead of taking Williams, the Cowboys could pivot to taking his Georgia teammate, Jalon Walker. Walker also spent his three-year collegiate career playing entirely for the Bulldogs. He was a part of their 2022 championship roster and had an impactful role on the defensive line. Walker totaled 89 combined tackles with 12.5 sacks.

Matthew Golden - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks, NFL Draft

No. 8: Matthew Golden, WR

While Jalen Tolbert has shown flashes at times and Brandin Cooks is now in New Orleans, the Cowboys lack a proven No. 2 option opposite CeeDee Lamb. Golden began his collegiate career in Houston before transferring to Houston in his final season. In Texas, Golden enjoyed a breakout totaling 987 yards with an SEC-leading nine receiving scores.

Emeka Egbuka - College Football Rankings - NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks - NFL Draft

No. 7: Emeka Egbuka, WR

Another wide receiver that could be available at the No. 12 pick is Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka. Egbuka has played alongside elite talent, including Marvin Harrison Jr., and has often been overshadowed in the Ohio State passing attack. However, the wideout totaled 2,868 yards during his four-year career on 205 receptions. He caught double-digit scores in two seasons as well.

Tetairoa McMillan - College Football DFS Lineup Picks, NCAA CFB, NFL Draft Prospect

No. 6: Tetairoa McMillan, WR

While this may feel like a long shot, there is an outcome where Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan falls to the No. 12 spot. McMillan is considered the top wide receiver in this class, but has fallen into the double-digit rounds on several mock drafts. Last season, McMillan led the Big 12 in receiving yards (1,319 yards) en route to being named an All-American. He would be the perfect option to pair with CeeDee Lamb and bring the Dallas offense back on track.

LSU Tigers - College Team Stock Logo

No. 5: Will Campbell, OT

The Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line was above average in 2024, allowing the 14th fewest sacks. However, with Dak Prescott coming off a season-ending hamstring injury, bolstering the line is never a bad idea. Will Campbell of LSU is widely considered one of the top linemen in the class and has fallen in the double digits in several mocks. Campbell was named consensus All-American last season for the Tigers.

Michigan Wolverines - NCAA College Team Logo Stock Alt

No. 4: Will Johnson, DB

With the loss of Jourdan Lewis in free agency, if Will Johnson were to fall to the Cowboys, it would be hard for Jerry Jones and company to pass up on the former Wolverine. Johnson played a key role in their National Championship run during the 2023 season. During his three-year college career, Johnson tallied nine interceptions with 68 combined tackles.

Marshall Thundering Herd - NCAA College Team Logo Stock

No. 3: Mike Green, DE

Another edge rusher for the Cowboys to target as their DeMarcus Lawrence replacement would be Mike Green of Marshall. Green played his first season of college football with Virginia before transferring to Marshall. In 2024, Marshall enjoyed a career season, tallying a Sun Belt Conference-leading 17.0 sacks. He was named Sun Belt Player of the Year and also led the conference in tackles for loss (23).

Omarion Hampton - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks - NFL Draft

No. 2: Omarion Hampton, RB

Their other significant need is in the backfield. The Cowboys lost 1,000-yard rusher Rico Dowdle to the Carolina Panthers in free agency. While the Cowboys signed Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, Omarion Hampton would provide an immediate impact option in the backfield. Hampton has led the ACC in rushing yards in each of the previous two seasons and has found the back of the end zone 40 times in three seasons.

Ashton Jeanty - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks

No. 1: Ashton Jeanty, RB

Rounding out this list is the best running back in the class, Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty enjoyed an incredible final season with Boise State, totaling 2,601 rushing yards. He punched in 29 rushing scores. Through the air, Jeanty caught one score with 138 yards. Jeanty has led the Mountain West Conference in rushing yards and scores in each of the past two seasons. He was also named All-American and finished second in Heisman voting.
