MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Expert Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks For Today (4/8/25)

Dylan Cease - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB DFS Picks

Jamie's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Tuesday, 4/8/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

It's a cold day, RotoBallers, and I'm ready with the Tuesday edition of our MLB DFS picks. I'll be giving my insight every week on this day to help you cash in your DFS contests, and hopefully, I will be able to provide more as the summer comes.

Tonight, we have 10 games to look at, and we're presented first and foremost with the COORS slate. Milwaukee is going to be the main focus of everyone, so you'll want to find the correct pieces from that game without sacrificing too much in the rest of the lineup.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/8/2025, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will showcase elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Dylan Cease, SD ($10.3K DK/$10K FD)

There's a lot to choose from at the top of the SP pool today. The headline matchup is Zack Wheeler vs. Chris Sale, and you could make the argument that either of them deserves to be crowned the SP1 of the day. My money, however, is on the immense strikeout upside of Dylan Cease.

Oakland is a bit of an anomaly this year since we can't use their park factor from the past, but we're still talking about a team that was 29th in wRC+ against RHP with the second-highest K rate against them as well. The lineup has some exciting young players, but they've still struck out the eighth-most against RHP so far.

Cease has come out of the gate firing with a 32.6 percent K rate and 12.4 percent swinging-strike rate, and his SwStr % shows that positive regression should come. Even if he gives up a couple of runs, this screams like a matchup where we can expect 7-8 strikeouts at least.

Freddy Peralta, MIL ($7.6K DK/$9K FD)

A pitcher in Coors? When he's the caliber of Freddy Peralta...sure, why not? This is really more of a DK-specific play, as Peralta is priced to talent on FD. On DK where you need two pitchers, Peralta fits the mold of SP2 perfectly. He'll allow you to roster a high-end starter, and also not totally sacrifice bats.

The weather is still cold in Coors Field, which should help to mute the thin air at least a little bit. The Rockies also managed to strike out at the third-highest rate against RHP in 2024, and Peralta has looked magnificent to start 2025 with a 34.8 percent K rate.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Zack Wheeler, PHI ($10.5K DK/$10.8K FD)
  • Chris Sale, ATL ($9.3K DK/$9.8K FD)
Pablo Lopez, MIN ($8K DK/$9.2K FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Gunnar Henderson, BAL ($5.5K DK/$3.7K FD)

It was a slow beginning for Gunnar Henderson after being reinstated from the IL, as he started the year 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts. However, we finally saw the "Gunnar flex" as the young SS went 2-for-4 with a double while also swiping a couple of bags in the first game against Arizona.

Tonight, Henderson faces Merrill Kelly, whose velocity is noticeably down in his first two games of 2025. As a result, he's given up 10 runs in nine innings while walking seven batters and only striking out three. Henderson posted a .405 wOBA and .265 ISO against RHP a year ago, and is primed for upside tonight in a warmer climate.

Rhys Hoskins, MIL ($4.6K DK/$3.4K FD)

The Brewers will be popular today as the visiting team in Coors Field, and you'll want to give them your attention. Rhys Hoskins stands out as a solid per-dollar play as he gets the platoon edge and is not fully priced. Hoskins is declining with age, but he still raked LHP to the tune of a .387 wOBA and .245 ISO last year.

Kyle Freeland's 4.84 SIERA since the beginning of last year is lowest on the slate, and his 24.6 percent CSW in 2024 is below average as well. Throw in the fact that he's pitching in Coors Field, and there's reason to not only stack against him, but also find one-off plays for cash.

Jonathan Aranda, TB ($3.5K DK/$2.6K FD)

As long as Kyle Hendricks continues to be a fixture in the Angels' rotation, I'm going to attack. Hendricks has been losing velocity every year, and his K rate and HHR allowed are showing it. Hendricks struck out a meager 14.5 percent of LHB last season, and Jonathan Aranda is cheap for his usual top-four spot in the order.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jackson Chourio, MIL ($6K DK/$3.8K FD)

Jackson Chourio is absolutely peak-priced for Coors (at least on DK), but it's worth it to roster a leadoff hitter there. After his miserable five-strikeout opening day, Chourio has hit safely in every game since with three homers, nine RBIs, and an .880 OPS.

He'll take the platoon edge against the aforementioned Kyle Freeland, and the potential five PAs in Coors should always be at the top of your priority list for cash.

Seiya Suzuki, CHC ($5.2K DK/$3.6K FD)

Jack Leiter has unfortunately hit the IL with a blister, and he's being replaced by Patrick Corbin. The lefty has been a platoon stack target for the good part of a decade, and I plan on fully going right back to the well tonight. For the past three years, Corbin has allowed a .374 wOBA and 1.48 HR/9 to RHB with a 17 percent K rate.

Seiya Suzuki offers the most power potential in this matchup, as he has a .209 ISO against LHP since the beginning of last season. He should hit third for the Cubs, who have turned on the offense since the Tokyo series.

Heliot Ramos, SF ($4K DK/$3.6K FD)

Heliot Ramos is oddly cheap on DK, where he should be pushing $5K. Ramos is striking out at an alarming rate to start the year (29.5 percent), but he's also been mashing lefties since the beginning of last year to the tune of a .391 wOBA, .275 ISO, and 153 wRC+.

There's a downside if he's striking out that much (Nick Lodolo is a K pitcher), but Ramos is simply mispriced on DK. I'm not too into stacking Giants, but Ramos leading off for $4K is a borderline cash lock.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Milwaukee Brewers vs Kyle Freeland

Did you know Milwaukee is Algonquin for "the Good Land" (thank you, Wayne's World)? Did you also know that their 5.4 IRT is the highest on the slate by over half a run? I know it's cold in Denver, but you still have to be on the right side of a Coors stack when it hits. Milwaukee's offense is picking up, and there are various ways to attack Freeland.

Favorite Combo: Chourio, Yelich, Hoskins, Frelick

2. Chicago Cubs vs Patrick Corbin

Righties vs. Patrick Corbin has been a thing for over a decade now, but he's really plummeted against lefties as well with a 17.1 percent K rate and 11 percent BB rate since the beginning of 2023. The righties are still the main focus of attack, but don't be afraid to use Kyle Tucker, who has mashed same-handed pitching his whole career.

Favorite Combo: Happ, Tucker, Suzuki, Swanson

3. Tampa Bay Rays vs Merrill Kelly

The Rays aren't a high-flying offense that we're going to be looking to target every slate, but when you're in April, there's a distinct advantage to finding the few warm-weather games we can. Tampa should also profile as a hitters' park as the season wears on, given the fact that the dimensions are very similar to Yankee Stadium.

The lefties against Merrill Kelly is where you want to go with this one, and Tampa should get enough in to make the stack viable.

Favorite Combo: Lowe, Caminero, Aranda, Misner
