Who Should I Start for Fantasy Football Week 16? Bo Nix, Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey

Ladd McConkey - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Who should I start for Week 16? Fantasy football outlooks for Bo Nix, Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.

Thursday night football is quickly approaching, and we are in Week 16 of the fantasy football season. Congratulations to those of you who are still competing for a championship! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. Considering we are in the semi-finals of the playoffs for fantasy, we must dive into the numbers to make informed decisions.

This article will examine whether we should start Bo Nix, Justin Herbert, and Ladd McConkey. All of these players play in Thursday Night Football in Los Angeles.

I'll highlight recent statistics for these players, share my recommendations for Week 15, and evaluate whether they should be in your starting lineups.

Should I Start Bo Nix for Fantasy Football?

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has had a fantastic rookie season. He has exceeded expectations based on where experts ranked him in the draft order. Nonetheless, here we are in Week 16, and the Broncos are sitting at 9-6 and are comfortably in the sixth spot in the AFC playoff race. A big reason for that success is the play of Nix, who has thrown for 2,972 yards and 20 touchdowns this year.

Nix faces a tough road matchup in Week 16 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers defense gave up 40 points last week to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and after that performance, they will likely be motivated to perform well. The Charger's defense is solid against the run but is vulnerable to the passing game. That bodes well for Nix.

Although Nix has had a solid season, this is not his best matchup in the semi-finals. He is a low-end QB1 for Week 16. If you have more substantial options, consider them. RotoBallers ranks him as QB12 in Week 16.

Should I Start Justin Herbert for Fantasy Football?

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has had a fine season in 2024. With head coach Jim Harbaugh in the mix, Herbert has had someone to lean on and bring out his best self. However, this has yet to translate to consistent fantasy production, and consistency is key in fantasy football.

Herbert ranks as QB15 on the year in standard leagues. He has had some strong performances but a few too many weeks of 14 fantasy points or less (eight times). The matchup on Thursday Night Football is no walk in the park, either. The Denver Broncos' defense has allowed the sixth-fewest points to quarterbacks in the 2024 season.

Although Herbert has provided the Chargers with a lot of stability at the position and helped the team to an 8-6 record in the seventh spot of the AFC wild-card race, he remains a low-end QB1 for fantasy purposes. RotoBallers ranks him as QB14 for Week 16.

Should I Start Ladd McConkey for Fantasy Football?

Yes. Ladd McConkey has been a PPR machine this year and is the clear go-to target for quarterback Justin Herbert. Since Week 8, McConkey has scored ten plus fantasy points in five of his last seven games. He is a stud. Expect Herbert to lean on his rookie wide receiver tonight in a matchup that is expected to be a close game (Chargers -2.5).

McConkey has provided fantasy managers with great draft value and production on the field. RotoBaller ranks McConkey as their WR21 in Week 16, making him a solid WR2 option.
