Mike Gesicki fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 3 (2024). Should you start or sit Mike Gesicki for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE1
ANALYSIS: Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki has become a reliable option for quarterback Joe Burrow in the middle of the field. In Week 1, Gesicki caught three passes for 18 yards and almost reeled in a touchdown. Then, last week, the 28-year-old brought in seven catches for 91 yards. That makes the Bengals tight end a sneaky fantasy option this week.
He has a 20.6% target share through two weeks and now faces a Washington secondary that has had its struggles to start the season. Despite the Commanders allowing just one catch to tight ends this year, Gesicki is still a strong play in most 14-plus team leagues.
Bengals air yards this season:
Mike Gesicki (95)
Andrei Iosivas (73)
Trenton Irwin (68)
Jermaine Burton (68)
Ja'Marr Chase (65)— Ian Hartitz (@Ihartitz) September 19, 2024
The Bengals playmaker has seen 13 targets in two weeks and just finished as the TE5 in PPR formats in Week 2. His playing time is a bit concerning -- as he has played less than 50% of the Bengals' offensive snaps in both contests -- but Gesicki has been quite involved on offense when he has been on the field. As a result, he is a solid TE1 option in some leagues this week.
