Mike Trout Injury Update

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (knee) will miss the remainder of the season, according to Angels general manager Perry Minasian. Trout has been sidelined since late April due to a torn meniscus. The 32-year-old began a rehab assignment last week but was pulled from a game due to discomfort.

Unfortunately, the three-time American League MVP will now sit out the remainder of the summer after playing in a career-low 29 games. During this small stint, Trout held a .220/.325/.541 line with 10 home runs and six stolen bases. His metrics remained quite strong as he sat with a 17.1% barrel rate and a .599 xSLG. Injuries have gotten the best out of the future Hall of Famer over the past few seasons, and remains without a definite timetable for 2025. Julio Rodriguez Injury Update

Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez (ankle) began taking part in light baseball activities back in Seattle while the team was on a road trip through Chicago and Boston, but his timeline for a return remains unclear. It's encouraging to hear that Rodriguez has resumed baseball activities amid his recovery from a high right ankle sprain, but it's still difficult to map out any kind of expected return date for the 23-year-old fantasy superstar.

Before hurting himself after leaping into the wall in center field in the July 21 game against the division-rival Houston Astros, Rodriguez had gone 17-for-40 (.425) with four home runs, three doubles, eight RBI, and one stolen base in his most recent 13 games. Victor Robles (hip) is running hot in J-Rod's stead, batting .360 (27-for-75) with two homers, six doubles, 10 runs scored, and nine steals in 33 contests with the M's this year. Riley Greene Injury Update

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene (hamstring) has resumed some baseball activity, but he has not yet started fully running again. While Greene is scheduled to face Casey Mize in a live batting session at Comerica Park during this weekend's series with the division-rival Kansas City Royals, a more important point of progression from a right hamstring strain will come when he resumes running at full strength.

The 23-year-old left fielder remains without a clear timetable for a return to the Tigers until that happens, but he remains a must-stash fantasy player after slashing .264/.357/.485 with 17 home runs, 21 doubles, 51 RBI, and 57 runs scored over 427 plate appearances before going on the injured list. In the meantime, Bligh Madris and Ryan Vilade should see more playing time in the Motor City.

Jordan Westburg Injury Update

Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday afternoon with a right-hand fracture. In a corresponding move, the Orioles recalled infielder Livan Soto from Triple-A Norfolk. Westburg left Wednesday's game early after being hit by a pitch in his right hand. Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde expressed after the game that the team hopes to have Westburg back before the end of the season.

The 25-year-old was enjoying a nice breakout season, boasting a strong .269/.317/.497 line with 18 home runs and six stolen bases. Under the hood, he carried a 47.0% hard-hit rate and 12.3% barrel rate, which are among the best marks in the sport. While sidelined, fantasy managers should expect top prospect Jackson Holliday to cover the keystone while Ramon Urias holds down the hot corner.

Carlos Correa Injury Update

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (heel) has progressed to hitting overhand batting practice as of Wednesday. The hope is that he will progress to jogging by Thursday, assuming there is improvement in the soreness in the heel. Correa was placed on the 10-day injured on July 20 as the Twins began the second half of the season, receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right heel.

He's experiencing plantar fasciitis in the opposite foot from the lingering issue that plagued him throughout the 2023 season, but that doesn't change the fact that Minnesota is likely to proceed with caution with their 29-year-old star shortstop. Before hitting the shelf, Correa was slashing a robust .308/.377/.520 with 13 home runs, 16 doubles, 47 RBI, and 51 runs scored in 279 at-bats (75 games) and needs to be stashed in all fantasy leagues while utility man Willi Castro holds down the fort at short. Luis Rengifo Injury Update

Los Angeles Angels infielder Luis Rengifo (hand) was not in Thursday's lineup as the Angels played the rubber match of a three-game set against the Colorado Rockies. Rengifo left Wednesday's game early after injuring his wrist on a swing. Jeff Fletcher of the SoCal News Group reported that the 27-year-old is feeling much better and is day-to-day.

The utility man has posted a strong .302/.349/.420 line with six home runs and 24 stolen bases this season and could return to the starting nine as early as Friday. As a result, Brandon Drury will cover the hot corner, which opens up the keystone for Michael Stefanic. Both Drury and Stefanic are worth a look in DFS this evening as they will face Colorado right-hander Ryan Feltner, who enters this game with a 1-10 record and a 4.99 ERA.

Kerry Carpenter Injury Update

Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (back) was seen running the bases on Thursday, according to Chris McCosky of the Detroit News. This is typically the final step before embarking on a rehab assignment. Carpenter has been sidelined since May with a stress fracture in his spine. Prior to the injury, the 26-year-old held a strong .283/.342/.572 line with eight home runs.

Given how much time the Virginia Tech product has missed, he should be expected to embark on an extended rehab stint. When he returns, Carpenter should be the favorite to see the majority of opportunities in right field. In the meantime, Wenceel Perez and Justyn-Henry Malloy should continue to see most of the starts.

Parker Meadows Injury Update

Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows (hamstring) is likely to return this weekend, according to Evan Woodbery of MLive Media Group. Meadows has been sidelined since the start of July with a hamstring strain. The 24-year-old logged three rehab games with Triple-A Toledo earlier this week.

Parker Meadows, currently on rehab assignment, seems likely to return at some point this weekend. He played for the Mud Hens last night in Indianapolis.

Meadows has looked great at Triple-A this season, boasting an excellent .292/.392/.503 line with eight home runs and 19 swiped bags. However, in the big leagues, he has had trouble finding consistency with an underwhelming .131/.247/.286 line. Meadows could be worth a look in deeper redraft leagues once he is cleared to return, as he was riding a three-game hitting streak before hitting the injured list last month.
