As the major league season hits the quarter mark, we have to marvel at the volume of high-profile prospects that have already been called up. Some of them have provided sizeable impacts like Jared Jones and Andy Pages, while other big names have sputtered, performed inconsistently, or have even been sent back to the minors.

This past week was another big one for prospect promotions with Paul Skenes and Kyle Manzardo getting the call along with Robert Gasser and Jack Leiter being recalled. We continue to lose names from this list, but there are still plenty of exciting prospects to stash right now, especially on the hitting side.

Remember, stashing prospects should be done strategically and varies from league to league. Don't leave your teams without much depth just because you want all the high-upside prospects on your roster.

Top 25 Prospects to Stash for 2024 Fantasy Baseball

Notes on plenty of prospects can be found below the rankings table. And remember, these rankings are for 2024 redraft value only. These are MLB prospects to potentially make a rest-of-season fantasy baseball impact in 2024.

Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings Analysis

Junior Caminero, Tampa Bay Rays

With Paul Skenes now up with Pittsburgh, Junior Caminero reclaims the top spot in these stash rankings. After four homers in three games around the turn of the month, Caminero hasn't left the yard in his last nine games but still has hits in nine of 11 games this month. There's still plenty of speculation on when Caminero will be recalled, but I'm still thinking it's going to be this month. His massive power upside could help fantasy managers immediately.

Coby Mayo, Baltimore Orioles

You know you have an embarrassment of riches when you can't find spots for guys like Jackson Holliday, Coby Mayo, and Heston Kjerstad in your major league lineup. Well, there is a small path if Baltimore stops playing Ramon Urias and others, but Mayo just mashed his 13th homer of the season and is still in Triple-A. Granted, Mayo was in a bit of a funk at the dish before his home run on Sunday, picking up just four hits in his last 34 at-bats with three of those hits coming in one game.

Mayo could step right in and be one of the biggest power threats in the game, but when he gets his chance with Baltimore is a question not many can answer right now.

Jackson Holliday, Baltimore Orioles

Alright, it's time to check in on Jackson Holliday in Triple-A. Since returning to Triple-A Norfolk on April 27, Holliday is hitting .264 with a .435 OBP and more walks (16) than strikeouts (14) in 14 games but only has mustered five extra-base hits and one home run. As is the case with Mayo, I honestly have no idea when we'll see Holliday swing a bat again in the major leagues. My initial thought after his immense struggles in his first MLB stint was that Holliday's second stint this season in Triple-A would last for at least a month and we're around halfway there.

James Wood, Washington Nationals

There's hot, there's red hot, and then there's whatever James Wood is right now. Wood is currently on a nine-game hit streak with hits in 18 of his last 19 games overall and just had a three-game stretch from 5/8 to 5/11 where he belted five home runs. For the season, Wood is slashing .346/.444/.581 in 35 games with 11 doubles, seven home runs, and nine steals.

Given his above-average speed and immense raw power, James Wood has the upside to make a major fantasy splash this season if he's able to keep his strikeout rate in check. If he continues tormenting Triple-A pitchers (likely), Wood is going to force Washington's hand sooner rather than later.

Jasson Dominguez, New York Yankees

In case you missed the announcement over the weekend, Jasson Dominguez is set to begin his rehab assignment on Tuesday with Low-A Tampa. This means we're likely going to see Dominguez back with the New York Yankees by the end of May. I'm sure he's probably stashed in most leagues, but if he's not, I'd sprint to your league's waiver wire to pick him up.

Dominguez is coming off back-to-back seasons with at least 15 home runs and 35 steals in the minors and flexed his power during his eight-game stint with the Yankees late last season, swatting four home runs in eight games with a 56.5% hard-hit rate. The long-term upside is a player who can push 30/30 and Dominguez could make a sizeable impact for fantasy managers as soon as he puts those pinstripes back on.

Jordan Lawlar, Arizona Diamondbacks & Noelvi Marte, Cincinnati Reds

Two more hitters who are currently not playing that are worth stashing are Noelvi Marte and Jordan Lawlar. Both of these guys have immense offensive upside and were top-10 overall prospects for me entering the season before Lawlar tore his thumb and Marte got popped for something called Boldenone, which actually might be the shortest drug name known to man. At this point, Lawlar looks to be on track for a possible July return with Marte's suspension ending in late June.

Ricky Tiedemann, Toronto Blue Jays

If you held on to Ricky Tiedemann hoping for a fairly quick return to the mound, that's not going to be the case. The update on May 7 was that he's still a couple of weeks away from throwing off a mound. After that, he'll likely need a rehab outing or two before he's even back to Triple-A. So at this point, it's looking like June for a return to Triple-A and who knows how much longer before Tiedemann gets the call to Toronto. I'm a firm believer in the talent, but I'm much more pessimistic about the durability and 2024 impact for Tiedemann.
