Although Michael McDowell finished well on drafting tracks in 2021 and 2022, don't expect him to contend at Talladega this weekend. Despite the massive Ford advantage on drafting tracks, McDowell has failed to lead a lap on those tracks all season. He did finish fourth in the summer Atlanta race, that performance was inflated as he only ranked 17th in average running position. McDowell finished up front because he stayed out of the pits under caution before rain ended the race. It seems like the Front Row Motorsports team may have shifted its priorities to focus on other tracks, as evidenced by McDowell's dominant Indianapolis win and surprisingly strong Bristol run, but they likely won't contend tomorrow even with the Ford advantage.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerRead More News
