Luis Robert Jr. Injury Update

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (knee) will miss the rest of the 2023 regular season due to a mild MCL sprain in his left knee that will put him on the injured list. The White Sox are bringing up Tyler Naquin from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move.

Fantasy managers who invested in Robert at a relatively low cost have to be thrilled at how his season turned out in 2023. The 26-year-old Cuban managed to play in over 100 games for the first time in his career and slashed .264/.315/.542 with an .857 OPS and career-highs in home runs (38), doubles (36), RBI (80), stolen bases (20) and runs scored (90) in 145 total games and 595 plate appearances.

Corey Seager Injury Update

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (forearm) said he feels fine after suffering a right forearm bruise in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Angels, per Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. Seager was hit by a pitch and exited the game early, but X-rays showed no fracture. Seager should be considered day-to-day at this time.

This is great news for the Rangers and fantasy managers, as it sounds like Seager could return to the lineup as early as Wednesday.

Carlos Correa Injury Update

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (foot) is expected to make it back to the lineup before the end of the regular season. The 28-year-old was placed on the injured list September 19 due to a lingering plantar fasciitis issue in his foot.

It is an issue that has bothered Correa throughout the season. Twins' manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters that Correa could return for the weekend series against the Colorado Rockies. The team could do that so Correa can get his timing back before the postseason begins.

Ryan Mountcastle Injury Update

Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (shoulder) was able to take batting practice ahead of Tuesday's contest. That is great news as Mountcastle continues to work his way back from a shoulder injury. Orioles' manager Brandon Hyde mentioned that Mountcastle could return from the injured list on Wednesday.

However, it seems more likely that he'd return closer to the weekend. Regardless, it sounds like the 26-year-old will be back in action before the end of the month.

Patrick Sandoval Injury Update

Los Angeles Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval (oblique) hit the 15-day injured list on Tuesday, according to Angels PR. In a corresponding move, the club recalled lefty Kolten Ingram to join the bullpen. With less than a week to go in the regular season, the 26-year-old Sandoval won't pitch until 2024, as the Angels are set to miss the playoffs. He last pitched on Monday against the Texas Rangers and experienced right oblique tightness before leaving early.

Across 144 2/3 innings this year, Sandoval pitched to a 4.11 ERA, 19.6% strikeout rate, 11.3% walk rate, and 1.51 WHIP with seven victories. The five-year veteran remains arbitration-eligible, so he'll likely head into next season as a member of the Angels rotation once again.
