Tennessee Titans - NFL Betting Analysis

Even though they finished in second place in the AFC-South, the Titans couldn't sneak into the playoffs as a Wild Card and missed the playoffs. Tennessee's overall record was 7-10 and 3-3 in the division. At home, the Titans put together a mark of 3-5 while going 4-5 on the road.

Last season, Ryan Tannehill completed 65.2% of his passes for a total of 2536 yards. For the season, he finished 22nd among QB's in passing yards and 15th in touchdowns (13). Tannehill's passer rating for the season was 94.6 (20th). Offensively, the Titans averaged 17.5 points per game in 2022, putting them 28th in the NFL. In the passing game, they finished 28th in passing attempts and averaged 171.4 yards per game through the air. When looking at their running game, the Titans were 16th in yards per attempt.

Last season, the Titans' defense was 9th in turnovers, having forced 20 takeaways. At season's end, they had a turnover differential of -3 which put them 13th in the league. Overall, they allowed an average of 21.1 points per game (12th) and 351.6 yards.

The Titans are coming off a season in which they went 9-7-1 vs. the spread and had an over/under record of 5-12. Tennessee's average scoring margin for the season was -3.6 points per game with their games averaging a combined 38.6 points.

New Orleans Saints - NFL Betting Analysis

After a season in which they concluded with an overall record of only 7-10, the Saints are looking to take a step forward this season. Within the NFC-South, New Orleans secured a 3rd place finish and went 2-4 record against divisional rivals. When playing on their home turf, the Saints went 4-5, while they held a 3-5 record when competing on the road.

Derek Carr comes over to the Saints after playing for the Raiders last season. In the 2022-2023 season, he finished with a passer rating of 86.3 and threw for 3522 yards in 15 games. Carr's touchdown to interception ratio for the season was 24/14. New Orleans is coming off a season in which they were 22nd in points per game, at 19.4 points per contest. In terms of their offensive efficiency, they averaged 5.5, which was 10th in the NFL. On the ground, the Saints ran the ball an average of 27.4 times per contest (14th) and finished 16th in passing yards.

This season, the Saints will look to become a top-10 defensive unit, as they finished last season ranked 9th in points allowed at 20.3 points per game. On average, opponents averaged 130.5 rushing yards per game (24th) and 184.4 yards per game in the passing game 2nd. Last year's unit ended the season ranked 23rd in 3rd down conversion percentage (41.6%).

Last season, the Saints were 4-5 vs. the spread at home and 3-5 on the road. Overall, they were favored in six of their 17 games, going 4-2 straight-up and 2-4 ATS. As the underdog, they were 5-6 vs. the spread. New Orleans wrapped up the season with an over/under record of 6-11.

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Titans vs. Saints

The Titans and Saints did not have any head-to-head matchups last season. But over the last three times playing each other, the Titans have a record of 2-1. However, against the spread the Saints went 2-1. The over/under record in these matchups was 3-0 on an average of 57 points per game.

  • In their last three games away from home, the Titans have a straight up record of 0-3 while going 1-1-1 vs the spread. The team's offense averaged 13 points per game in these contests.
  • Across the Saints last ten home games, the team averaged 17 points per game while allowing 18. Their record vs the spread in these contests was 5-5, while going 5-5 straight-up.
  • In their last three games as the betting underdog, the Saints have a strong straight up record of 2-1. In addition, their ATS record was 3-0 in these scenarios.
  • In their last ten games as the betting favorite, the Titans have a straight up record of 5-5 and an ATS mark of 4-6.

Recommended ATS Betting Pick: Saints -3.5

Recommended OU Betting Pick: Under 41
