Easton McGee Expected To Have Tommy John Surgery
Easton McGee (elbow) is expected to have Tommy John surgery, with Dr. Keith Meister performing the procedure. McGee went on the injured list with a flexor strain in his right forearm, with the cause being instability in his UCL. The 25-year-old will now miss the remainder of the 2023 campaign and most likely at least half of next season. He made his first major-league start on April 29 against the Toronto Blue Jays and tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings while giving up just one hit, walking one and striking out two. McGee has only tossed 9 2/3 frames in the majors in the last two years, but he hasn't allowed an earned run in that time. In five starts for Triple-A Tacoma, he had a 3.14 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, nine walks and 24 K's in 28 2/3 innings this year.
