Jacksonville Jaguars - NFL Betting Analysis

Jacksonville will look to add on another win, as they picked up a non-conference victory over the Dallas Cowboys (40-34). Not only did the Jaguars win the game, but they also covered the spread a 4.0-point underdogs. By the end of the game, the teams combined for 74 points, surpassing the betting line of 48. Jacksonville went into the 4th quarter of the game, trailing by 3 at 27-24, but still came back to win and cover the spread as underdogs. Through 14 games, the Jaguars have an ATS record of 6-8. So far, they have an over-under record of 8-6. This week's betting total of 38.5 is lower than the line in their previous games.

As the Jaguars prepare to take on New York, they have played well on offense, ranking 12th in points per game at 23.9. Even though they have a tough matchup against the league's 5th-ranked defense, look for Jacksonville to continue their strong offensive play. This season, Jacksonville has been one of the better passing teams in the league, averaging 240.7 yards per game through the air. Although the Jets defense has been able to limit opposing teams in the passing game, Jacksonville should still be able to continue to generate big plays through the pass. A key matchup to watch through the game is if Jacksonville will be able to run the ball with its usual effectiveness. Even though they are averaging 127.2 yards per game on the ground, look for them to struggle against a defense that can be tough to run against.

New York Jets - NFL Betting Analysis

In week 15, the New York Jets dropped a non-conference matchup against the Lions by a score of 20-17. Heading into the game, the Jets were expected to win as -2.0 point favorites. This outcome resulted in both a straight-up and ATS loss. The two teams combined point total of 37 remained below the betting line of 44. In the game, New York trailed the Lions by a score of 13-10 heading into the 4th quarter. Through 14 games, the Jets have an ATS record of 8-6. So far, they have an over-under record of 5-9. This week's betting total of 38.5 is slightly lower than the line in their previous games.

Heading into this week's matchup, the Jets' offense is averaging 20.1 points per game, placing them 23rd in the NFL. However, they could be in line for a good offensive game as the Jaguars are just 21st in points allowed per game. Although the Jets come into the game ranked just 15th in offensive passing yards, they should have opportunities vs a struggling secondary. On the ground, our projections show that the Jets' offense will have its problems. For the season, the Jets are averaging 107.7 yards per game through the run.

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Jaguars vs. Jets

Looking back at the recent matchups between Jacksonville and New York, the Jets have taken 3 of the last 5 contests. The two teams have combined to average 45.6 points per game in their last 5 meetings. Last year, New York and Jacksonville met up 1 time, with the Jets winning by a score of 26-21. The Jets entered as -2.5 point favorites and covered the spread. Leading into the game, the over-under line was set at 42.5 points.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have performed well vs the spread in recent games, going 2-2. The Jaguars' offense has averaged 24.8 points per game over the 5 most recent meetings with New York, compared to the Jets at 20.8.

Jacksonville will look to keep things rolling as they have put together a mark of 2-1 over their past 3 games. The team has also been excellent vs the spread, going 2-1. Their over-under record in these games was 3-0

In their last 3 games away from home, the Jaguars have a straight-up record of 1-2 while going 1-2 vs the spread. The team averaged 22.33 points per game in this stretch.

Across their previous 3 regular season games, the Jets have a straight-up record of just 0-3. In these games, they have gone just 1-2 vs the spread while posting an over-under mark of 1-2.

In their last 3 home games, New York has averaged 22.67 points per game while allowing 15.67. The team's record in this stretch was 2-1 while going 2-1.

Recommended ATS Betting Pick: Jets -1.0

Recommended OU Betting Pick: Under 38.5
