BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 21% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The New York Jets could have had the best offseason of all NFL teams. I'm dead serious. They added a ton of pieces to their offense and their defense through the draft, bolstered a squad in need of improvement, and although the year is (most probably) going to be a long one for them, they are taking the proper baby steps. One of the building blocks: first-round pick and up-and-coming superstar WR Garrett Wilson.
Wilson, even playing his first two games for the Jets with Joe Flacco as his QB has already scored 39.2 total PPR points. That's the 15th-highest tally among skill-position players pending MNF. Not bad for a rookie, is it? Well, the truth is that it could be miles better! For someone available in four of every five Yahoo leagues!
After a good-not-great debut against Baltimore (9.2 PPR points with an 8-4-52-0 receiving line), Wilson finally exploded last Sunday and played up to the expectations – and then some. Wilson posted a square 30.0 PPR tally away from home against the Browns thanks to his 14-target, eight-reception, 102-yard, two-touchdown performance. Probably not what you should expect from the freshman going forward, but definitely a glimpse into his ceiling and what should be coming once Zach Wilson is recovered and starting games.
I said you shouldn't expect this type of outcome because Wilson's 8-102-2 line (in a rookie season) had happened just 26 times before he did it last Sunday and only Odell Beckham Jr. (three times) went on to do it more than once in the same year. It must be something in New York's water.
The group of Wilson, Braxton Berrios, Corey Davis, Elijah Moore, Tyler Conklin, and C.J. Uzomah is definitely an overcrowded one. That will only hurt Wilson's upside a bit, but that should also not be reason enough to leave this superstar-in-the-making sitting on the WW in most (if not all) leagues out there.
