Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 13:
Justin Jefferson, WR, Vikings
Trade Value: 75.4
ROS Rank: 16
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson finished Sunday with four catches on six targets for 48 receiving yards in a 23-6 loss at Green Bay. The superstar receiver once again was hampered by a horrible offensive performance overall, as Minnesota gained 145 total yards as a team. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy finished 12-for-19 passing for 89 with two interceptions as the Vikings managed to run only 45 total plays.
Jefferson still led the team in receiving, but that didn't say much on a day in which Minnesota gained four yards in the second half. Fantasy managers will have to hope the Vikings can turn the corner, and quickly, as the team travels to Seattle in Week 13.
Verdict: Sell candidate for low-end WR1/high-end WR2. McCarthy's struggles have significantly hindered Jefferson's production.
Tee Higgins, WR, Bengals
Trade Value: 45.5
ROS Rank: 49
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Monday morning that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (concussion) is in the concussion protocol. Higgins went up for a one-on-one jump ball late in the game on Sunday, and when he landed on the ground, his head whiplashed backwards and smacked the ground. He was immediately taken out of the game and ruled out for concussion-like symptoms.
Before being taken off the field, Higgins disappointed fantasy managers and only caught five of his six targets for 31 yards. Considering Ja'Marr Chase (suspended) was not playing due to his one-game suspension, Higgins was first in line for targets, and it was a tough day for him going up against a stiff New England defense. Higgins will now need medical clearance on Tuesday or Wednesday to play in Thursday's contest against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Bengals (3-8) will look to play spoiler against the AFC North leaders, the Ravens (6-5).
Verdict: Solid buy candidate for teams that have clinched a playoff spot. Higgins should hold high-end WR2 upside with Joe Burrow nearing a return.
Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Colts
Trade Value: 46.6
ROS Rank: 48
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. caught five of his eight targets for 27 yards and a touchdown in a 23-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12. Pittman scored the first touchdown of the game when he pulled in a six-yard pass from Daniel Jones with 8:06 left in the first quarter. It was mostly a quiet day after that for Pittman as the Colts only managed two field goals in the second half.
Pittman has been a solid fantasy receiver this season as he has 59 catches for 607 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games this year. He will look to keep it going in Week 13 against the Houston Texans.
Verdict: Buy the candidate at a high-end WR2 price. Pittman projects to remain Jones' go-to option in the passing game.
George Pickens, WR, Cowboys
Trade Value: 58.9
ROS Rank: 32
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens caught all nine of his targets for 146 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's Week 12 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The 24-year-old has drastically exceeded expectations in his first season with Dallas; not only does he have higher stats than superstar teammate CeeDee Lamb, but he's also been more productive than nearly every receiver in the league.
He currently ranks as the overall WR3 in PPR leagues this season, and he shows no signs of slowing down. Pickens' next chance of producing will come in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving. He continues to be a must-start WR1 in all fantasy leagues despite Kansas City allowing the second-fewest points to wide receivers this year.
Verdict: Sneaky snell candidate after out-producing Lamb over the last few weeks. Managers should expect Lamb to return to the WR1 role on this offense.
Fantasy Football Trade Rankings Values
The higher the Trade Value number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Find your players, add up the trade values of each side of the offer, and see which side of the trade wins.
Who Should I Trade For?
Week 13 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Tee Higgins, Justin Jefferson, Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley, Michael Pittman Jr., George Pickens, D'Andre Swift. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.
Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.
How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.
How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
