Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 14:
DK Metcalf, WR, Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf caught three of his five targets for 32 yards in a 26-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills. While he managed to find the end zone in Week 12, Metcalf has now gone five consecutive games without surpassing 50 receiving yards. Pittsburgh's offense has been incredibly ineffective lately, especially through the air, making it hard to rely on any of its pass-catchers.
Metcalf remains the only Steelers wideout worth rostering for fantasy purposes, but he is far from a must-start at this point. The Baltimore Ravens, who have tightened up defensively over the past eight weeks, are on tap for Week 14. Fantasy managers in need of a safe floor should explore other options, but Metcalf's explosiveness and talent still give him enough upside to profile as a WR3 or flex play.
Quentin Johnston, WR, Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston (shoulder) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. This was the Chargers' first practice session as they prepare for Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles, which means that Johnston will have two more opportunities to log a full session before the team publishes its final injury report of the week.
Fantasy managers should check back over the next few days for updates, but at this point, it appears that Johnston has a decent chance to play. He's the overall WR30 in PPR leagues this year and is coming off a decent game in which he caught three passes for 23 yards and a touchdown. He's a low-end WR3/flex option for this week.
A.J. Brown, WR, Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is on a heater. After publicly complaining about his role in what has been a lackluster offense in 2025, Brown has now gone over 100 yards receiving in each of the last two games while scoring three times. In the team's 24-15 loss to the visiting Chicago Bears on Black Friday, the 28-year-old caught a season-high 10 passes on 12 targets (also a season high) for a season-high 132 yards and two touchdowns.
Philly's offense didn't look great once again outside of Brown's big game against Chicago. For the time being, he has returned to the WR1 role in Philly over DeVonta Smith, but that could easily change heading into the team's Week 14 tilt on the road on Monday Night Football against the Chargers. Fantasy managers have to like the way things are trending with Brown at the moment, though, as we get closer to the fantasy postseason.
Christian Watson, WR, Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson got a late start to the 2025 season following a torn ACL that he suffered in the regular-season finale last year. Watson made his debut in the Week 8 win over the Green Bay Packers and caught all four of his targets for a season-high 85 yards. It was a statement that the 26-year-old was back and immediately on the fantasy football radar.
He had exactly four targets in each of the next two games, too, before slowly seeing his role grow in the last three contests. Watson has 13 receptions on 22 targets for 175 yards and three TDs in the last three games, culminating in a four-catch, 80-yard, one-TD performance in the Thanksgiving Day win over the Lions last Thursday. He had a season-high 10 targets in that one and is the WR10 in half-PPR scoring over the last three weeks.
Jayden Reed's (foot, shoulder) impending return from IR could make life more difficult for Watson the rest of the way, but heading into a Week 14 divisional game against the Bears, Watson has clear WR2 upside for his big-play ability (17.3 yards per catch).
Tre Tucker, WR, Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Tre Tucker only had three catches for 20 yards in Week 13 against the Chargers, but he still served as the team's No. 1 wide receiver, playing 96% of snaps. No other receiver played more than 56% of snaps, and Tucker's three targets were behind only RB Ashton Jeanty's and TE Brock Bowers' target totals. Tucker had been even busier in the previous two weeks, drawing 18 targets in those two games from Geno Smith. He has multiple catches in each of his 12 games this season, totaling 44 catches for 550 yards and five touchdowns.
The third-year receiver should stay very involved as the Raiders' top wide receiver moving forward, but he has tough matchups in Week 14 against the Broncos and Week 16 against the Texans. He does have potential upside, but will remain unreliable since the Raiders' offense has been scuffling so badly in recent weeks.
