Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 10:
Quentin Johnston, WR, Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston bounced back from a zero-target performance by catching four passes for 53 yards and a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans. This week, he faces a vulnerable Pittsburgh Steelers defense that ranks 27th in allowing deep passes (20+ yards), which fits Johnston's downfield role.
However, he is likely to have a tough matchup against Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr., who is giving up one of the fewest fantasy points per route run in the league (0.15). Johnston's role in the offense remains unpredictable due to the rotating group of pass-catchers, including emerging rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden. His value heavily depends on game script, since it relies on the offense creating opportunities down the field or near the goal line.
Johnston should be considered a boom/bust FLEX option, projected as WR26 this week.
Keon Coleman, WR, Bills
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman has seen his targets diminished as the offense continues to focus on Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid in the passing game. The Bills' reliance on their running game, first in the NFL with 161.5 yards per game, also factors into Coleman's diminished targets. The second-year receiver saw just two targets last week and hasn't eclipsed 50 yards in a game since Week 1.
Coleman should not be started in any format until he can carve out a consistent role in the Bills' explosive offense.
Jaylen Warren, RB, Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren is fresh off a two-touchdown performance and will look to stay hot against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10. While the Chargers rank middle-of-the-pack against fantasy running backs, they have allowed the sixth-most yards per carry and fifth-most rushing touchdowns to the position.
Los Angeles has been much tougher through the air than on the ground, so Pittsburgh may lean on Warren and the running game to keep pace on the road. Kenneth Gainwell and Kaleb Johnson will mix in for a few touches, but Warren's role as the Steelers' RB1 remains secure. Fantasy managers can confidently start him as a top-15 play on Sunday night.
Jordan Mason, RB, Vikings
Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason faces a friendly matchup against a Baltimore Ravens team that has struggled to stop the run for large portions of the year, but it remains to be seen how the Vikings will allocate carries in their backfield in Week 10. Fellow running back Aaron Jones Sr. (shoulder, toe) left last week's game and is questionable to play against the Ravens, which offers a range of possibilities for Mason.
Jones was the more effective option last week in a key victory against Detroit, and though Minnesota head coach Kevin O'Connell has expressed optimism about Jones playing this week, Mason would be the featured option if Jones were to miss the game. The Vikings have ridden the hot hand when both backs have been available, which can be challenging to predict for fantasy purposes.
But with Mason facing a good matchup and still getting a reasonable amount of work alongside Jones, he's a playable RB3/flex option in most formats.
