When will Bryce Harper, Tyler Glasnow, and Adley Rutschman return and play? Will Harper, Glasnow, and Rutschman be back again this season? Read the latest fantasy baseball injury updates and return date for Week 13 of the 2025 MLB season.
As we head into the middle of the fantasy baseball regular season, the injuries continue to pile up for fantasy managers. It would be quite shocking if your fantasy roster didn't have multiple players currently on the injured list. Players like Yordan Alvarez, Michael King, Cole Ragans, Alex Bregman, Chris Sale, and Hunter Greene are just a few stars dealing with injuries.
Three more players to add to that list are Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow, and Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman. All three players find themselves on the injured list due to different injuries.
So, when will Harper, Glasnow, and Rutschman return? Should these three players be stashed in most leagues? Let's dive in and find out.

Bryce Harper Injury Update For Fantasy Baseball
Harper got off to a slow start at the plate in 2025, hitting just .232 with seven home runs and 22 RBI in his first 41 games. However, the slugging first baseman started to turn things around offensively in the middle of May. He had a .328 batting average with two home runs, 12 RBI, and two stolen bases across 16 games from May 14 to June 5.
Unfortunately, Harper has been out for a few weeks due to right wrist inflammation. The 32-year-old dealt with that same wrist issue last year, which played a part in his reduced power numbers in the second half. The veteran only hit six home runs over the final 56 games of the 2024 season.
It's unclear when Harper started to feel his wrist discomfort this season, but getting hit directly in the elbow by a 98 mph fastball from Spencer Strider on May 27 likely didn't help. The two-time National League MVP wound up missing five games after being diagnosed with a right elbow contusion.

Although Harper seemed to be healthy once he returned from that elbow injury on June 3, Philadelphia decided to place him on the 10-day IL a few days later due to that ongoing wrist issue. Since going on the 10-day IL on June 7, the Phillies first baseman has been making significant progress toward a return.
He went through a "full routine" on Tuesday and could hit in the batting cage before Wednesday's game. Therefore, signs point to Harper potentially returning from the IL sometime next week. His wrist continues to improve, and he has suffered no setbacks in his recovery progress.
With a return next week likely, fantasy managers should continue to stash Harper in one of their IL slots. He will remain a top fantasy first baseman once he is activated from the IL. The 32-year-old is hitting .258 with nine home runs, 34 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 57 games this season.
Tyler Glasnow Injury Update For Fantasy Baseball
It has been quite some time since we have seen Glasnow pitch in a major league game. His last start came all the way back on April 27 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The right-hander lasted just one inning in that outing and left early due to some shoulder soreness. The Dodgers then placed their star pitcher on the 15-day IL one day later.
Even though Glasnow was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 31, he has made significant progress in recent weeks. The 2024 All-Star made his first rehab start on June 22 for Triple-A Oklahoma City. In that rehab outing, the Dodgers pitcher tossed two scoreless innings with three walks and one strikeout while throwing 48 pitches.

The expectation is for Glasnow to make his second rehab start this weekend. He is currently lined up to pitch at Triple-A again sometime between June 27 and June 29. As a result, we are getting close to seeing the 31-year-old back with the major league club. He should only need a few more rehab starts before being activated from the 60-day IL.
That means Glasnow should be back at some point in July. He should remain in one of your IL spots for the time being until he is activated in the next few weeks. Given that the right-hander is one of the best pitchers in baseball when healthy, he should continue to be stashed in all fantasy formats.
Glasnow had a 29.9% strikeout rate in his first five starts this season, and his whiff rate (27.6%), hard-hit rate (35.7%), and average exit velocity (88.7 mph) all ranked extremely well before his injury. So, you're getting a pitcher back who carries major fantasy upside.
Adley Rutschman Injury Update For Fantasy Baseball
It has been a season to forget for Rutschman. He has posted subpar numbers at the plate and hasn't been a strong fantasy option as in years prior. The switch-hitting catcher is batting .227 with eight home runs and 20 RBI across 68 games in 2025. Those poor numbers are unlike the All-Star, considering he hit .250 with 19 home runs and 79 RBI last year.
Now, Rutschman is dealing with a left oblique strain that landed him on the 10-day IL on June 21. That injury first popped up on June 20, when he was scratched from Baltimore's lineup against the New York Yankees. Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said the catcher's side "flared up" before the game, and an MRI revealed an oblique strain.
Oblique strains are always difficult to come back from, which means we might not see Rutschman activated from the IL for quite some time. This is the first time that the 27-year-old has landed on IL in his four-year career, and he will be out for at least the next month due to this injury. The two-time All-Star is expected to be sidelined through the All-Star break.

With the All-Star break taking place from July 12 to July 15 this year, the earliest Rutschman could return is the first game back from the break on July 18 against the Tampa Bay Rays. However, it's too early to tell when the Orioles catcher will return to the club. These oblique strains take weeks to heal and usually heal on their own.
With that in mind, Rutschman could return toward the end of July or early in August. He will likely have to go on a short rehab assignment once his oblique is fully healed, but it shouldn't be more than a few games.
Although Rutschman has struggled offensively for most of this year, fantasy managers should stash him in one of their IL slots for the time being. This month-long IL stint could help get the catcher back on track at the plate. With an encouraging 33.7% squared-up rate, 19.8% chase rate, 16.3% strikeout rate, and 11.6% walk rate, better days could be ahead for him.
So, you definitely shouldn't be dropping a catcher with his upside at this point in the season. He has hit at least 19 home runs and driven in over 78 runs in back-to-back seasons. The potential is there for Rutschman to put it all together in the second half once he returns from his oblique strain.
