Week 5 Tight End Outlooks For Fantasy Football

Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers - Fantasy Football Outlook

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft is trending upwards for the Packers and with Luke Musgrave (ankle) not having logged any practice time this week, Kraft should be in line for a massive workload as the Packers face the Rams in Week 5. Last week, Kraft ran more routes per dropback (86%) than he has all season and came away with his best fantasy performance of the season, finishing overall TE1 on the week.

After a 6-53-1 line against the Vikings, Kraft should be ready to go against the Rams, a defense that allows the highest catch rate to the tight end position. Not to mention that Romeo Doubs (personal) and Christian Watson (ankle) are both doubtful, and the target tree is likely condensed even further. Kraft is a TE1 this week and a worthy fantasy start in the majority of leagues.

- Kevin Tomkins, RotoBaller

Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars - Fantasy Football Outlook

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (hamstring) is officially questionable heading into Sunday's matchup with the Indianapolis Colts after limited participation in practice all week. The star tight end hasn't played since Week 1, and the Jaguars offense has suffered without him. Brenton Strange has been a solid replacement but hasn't come close to the production Engram was expected to provide entering the season.

While the former New York Giant had only one catch in Week 1, fantasy managers should be happy to start him if he returns from injury. His upside is higher than most alternative tight ends, which is all fantasy managers can really rely on at the position so far this season. Engram will have to compete with receivers Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas Jr. for targets, but his red-zone threat is something the team sorely lacks without him. The offense has steadily improved week-to-week, meaning Week 5 against a poor Colts pass defense could be the perfect week for Engram to return from injury with a bang.

- Seth Quinn, RotoBaller

Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys - Fantasy Football Outlook

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson has been one of the few consistent tight end options this season. With Brandin Cooks (knee) ruled out for Sunday night's game in Pittsburgh, Ferguson should figure to see a consistent target share again. Ferguson has seen 21.6% of passes come his way when in the lineup this season, accounting for the second-highest percentage of targets on the team behind only CeeDee Lamb. The 25-year-old should be thrown into lineups this weekend in all formats despite going up against a tough Pittsburgh secondary. Dallas has leaned on the passing game and should continue to do so in Week 5.

- Brant Henson, RotoBaller
