ANALYSIS: The Chargers added another pass catcher for Justin Herbert in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting wideout Tre' Harris with the 55th overall pick (second round) out of Ole Miss.
Harris spent the final two seasons of his collegiate career with Ole Miss. In 2023, Harris caught 54 passes for 985 yards. But in 2024, the wide receiver took another step forward, tallying a career-best 1,030 yards on 60 receptions. He also found the back of the end zone seven times.
During training camp, Harris occasionally saw time with the first team but was typically deployed alongside the second-stringers, suggesting that he would need to earn a role through his preseason play. Harris enjoyed a productive contest facing the Rams when he caught three passes for 85 yards.
However, earlier in August, the Chargers opted to bring back veteran Keenan Allen, which will complicate the wide receiver room. Additionally, Harris recently suffered an undisclosed injury and was held out of practice for most of the last week.
With Allen returning to Los Angeles and the Chargers having a proven No. 1 option in Ladd McConkey, fantasy managers should only view Harris as a high-risk WR4. He is unlikely to see consistent targets and will be hard to trust in the season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
