BALLER MOVE: Consider as a boom/bust play in 12+-team leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: Down bad after suffering through a Breece Hall / Jerome Ford (or Joe Flacco) combination in your fantasy championship? In need of a Hail Mary to fight back and win? Rashid Shaheed may be there to save the day.
While not as weak as Washington or Philadelphia, Tampa Bay's secondary can be easily exploited. The Buccaneers allow 13.72 yards per catch to wide receivers and surrender the most yards to the position. Brandon Aiyuk put together a career game against Tampa Bay. Drake London followed suit. Even rookie Jonathan Mingo logged his career-best mark against this defense.
The Bucs are particularly susceptible to the deep ball, which is where Shaheed shines.
The floor, however, is extremely low. In every game in which Shaheed has scored this season (4 times), he's also racked up at least 70 yards. In his other nine contests, here are his receiving totals: 63, zero, 33, 28, 28, 22, 24, nine, and 36 yards. Averaging just 3.15 catches per game, those receiving numbers are bad enough to bury managers in fantasy championships.
If managers are massive underdogs and desperate enough heading into the Sunday slate, Shaheed could be worth the shot. But be warned, there's an even better chance that the second-year wideout ends any hopes of a comeback.
